On the morning of 10 October 2026, Droylsden Pythons hosted Boundary Park Juniors at the Belle Vue Sports Village in a 7-a-side league encounter that kicked off promptly at 9:00am. Despite a spirited display and four goals of their own, the Pythons were ultimately overcome by Boundary Park Juniors, who ran out 7-4 winners after a pulsating 60-minute contest. The match attracted a modest crowd of 50 supporters eager to witness the young talents in action.

Droylsden Pythons lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, a setup designed to balance defensive solidity with midfield creativity and attacking threat. Jake Duff took his place between the sticks as goalkeeper, tasked with organising the backline and making crucial saves. The defensive duo consisted of Joshua O’ Reilly and Logan Myerscough, both central defenders expected to marshal the defence and repel Boundary Park’s advances. Ahead of them, the midfield trio featured September’s player of the month, Elliott Walshe on the left, Max Higham centrally, and Callum Heaton on the right, each charged with linking defence and attack while providing width and support. Leading the line was striker Prince Karim, the focal point of the Pythons’ offensive efforts. The substitutes bench included Cole Burrows, Teddy Blunt, Hamza Bance, Muwaffaq Sanusi, and Roman Arrandale, ready to inject fresh legs and energy as the game unfolded.

The match began with immediate intensity as Prince Karim tested the opposition goalkeeper with a shot saved in the opening minute. However, Boundary Park Juniors struck first in the ninth minute, capitalising on a defensive error caused by a short placed pass by Joshua O’Reilly to slot home a right-footed finish. Droylsden responded with an attempt from Elliott Walshe in the twelfth minute, which was saved at point blank range. A huge chance that should have been converted. Pythons made swift changes as Max Higham and Elliott Walshe were replaced by Cole Burrows and Teddy Blunt respectively.

The substitution proved fruitful almost instantly. In the thirteenth minute, Prince Karim found the net with a right-footed finish inside the box, expertly assisted by Teddy Blunt, levelling the scores. Yet Boundary Park Juniors regained the lead three minutes later with a goal from close range inside the box. A huge gap in between the Droylsden defence was punished and it was too easy for the Rangers striker. The Pythons’ resilience was rewarded in the nineteenth minute. Callum Heaton’s lovely delivery to Prince who hit a right footed shot which was originally going wide, resulted in an own goal by a Boundary Park defender, bringing the scores back to parity.

Droylsden’s defensive reshuffle saw Joshua O’ Reilly replaced by Hamza Bance at the twentieth minute, followed by Callum Heaton making way for Muwaffaq Sanusi a minute later. Despite these adjustments, Boundary Park Juniors extended their advantage with a long-range right-footed strike in the twenty-second minute. A corner was taken from the right hand side with the Rangers midfielder pulled away from Muwaffaq with a lovely first time finish. Despite a full stretch dive from Jake Duff, the power was too much to put Boundary Park 3-2 ahead. It wasn’t long before it was 4-2, just six minutes later, another gaping hole in the Pythons defence made it too easy for the opposition. A through ball in between the two defenders resulted in the Boundary Park centre forward rounding the goalkeeper to tap in to the empty goal. Prince Karim came close again at the twenty-eighth minute but fired his effort high over the bar.

As the first half drew to a close, Prince Karim’s attempt went wide

His cross/shot was put into the Boundary Park defenders own net narrowed the deficit once more. Early in the second half, Roman Arrandale replaced Muwaffaq Sanusi, and Cole Burrows came on for Logan Myerscough at the forty-seventh minute. Roman Arrandale drove at the opposition several times, showing his dribbling skills, but the chances came to nothing. Joshua O’ Reilly’s high attempt at the fiftieth minute failed to trouble the goalkeeper.
