Home cup match played on 26 January 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Erin Go Bragh played New Pheasey Malloys at Holly Lane sports and social club, it was awful weather for a semi final, but both teams got stuck in. You could tell that the EGB boys wanted in more than the Malloys boys, with flying tackles coming in throughout the game from the likes of Dougie Sweeney, Jordan Lengthorn & Thomas Kelly. Every player was doing there bit working for each other. EGB created the best chance in the first half with Jordan Lengthorn playing a one two with Ryan Kiernan, and Jordan was through on goal on the right hand side, but he fell over and the shot was saved and pushed out for a corner. EGB also came close with a long range effort from the Left Back Michael Connolly, who's effort was just tipped over the bar.

The second half was ALL EGB, with a lot of pressure coming from the EGB team with even more tackles flying in, and the game becoming more heated. What changed the game was the impact sub of Daniel Tierney coming on for John Mac. This changed the second half because then EGB had a player running in behind the Malloys defence and Daniel was getting past them with ease, the left back had no clue of which way was which as he was getting turned in and out several times throughout the second half. A chance for EGB fell to them in the 60th min where Dougie Sweeney played a ball in from the left and Jordan Lengthorn got on the end of it and only 'just' headed it wide. EGB kept the pressure up and then five minutes later a chance fell to Jack Gibson, the ball was played through by an EGB player, and Jack Gibson slotted it home, for only it to be called offside. But this seemed to raise the EGB boys.

Malloys had a chance near the end of the match where there striker leaped high but the EGB keeper Sean Flanagan stud firm and punched clear, and showed his dominance in the box the way he did in the whole game, and a real credit to the young keeper.

A chance out of nothing fell to EGB, when the malloys defender tried to meg Ryan Kiernan in his own box and Ryan tackled the player and ran towards the goal from an awkward angle on the left, and looked easier to play the ball square to Jack Gibson through a few defenders, but what he did next was top class. Ryan ran through and chipped the keeper from about 3 yards out of the goal, and all the players were in disbelief from the Malloys side, and all the EGB players and fans on the side went mental. With all the players piling on top of Ryan behind the goal, seeing how much it meant to them all and the togetherness they all had as a team.

with 5 minutes to go, malloys had a few free kicks but nothing troubling the EGB defence who were strong the whole the game. A real credit to the boys, and the final whistle went and the boys went mental.

A very deserved win.
