Greensleeves bounced back from last week's defeat with a good performance against the Jaegerbombers.

The team was unchanged from the disappointing defeat to The Dugout, and it took a bit of time to get the defeat of the system.

The first half was tight and cagey. Sam kept things quiet at the back, and little happened in the first ten minutes. Greensleeves gradually started to assert their authority towards the end of the half. Chances were created, and only a couple of good saves from the feet of the 'bombers 'keeper prevented an opening goal.

It was 0-0 at half time but the boys in Green knew patience was required.

They were rewarded for the patience in the opening minutes of the second half, as Matt broke down the right and squared for Elliot, who finished low into the corner. 1-0

The second goal wasn't far away. Greensleeves rushed forward and Elliot played the ball through to Matt who rounded the keeper. The angle was tight so Matt pulled the ball back to Josh who rifled home from the edge of the box. 2-0.

Greensleeves were now creating chances at will. Matt missed a great chance after being in on goal, and Dave dragged wide from about 6 yards out.

The third came when Elliot played the ball to Dave, who finished superbly, driving the ball into the corner from an angle. 3-0.

Perhaps some complacency set in at this point, as Jaegerbombers tried to find a route back into the game. They broke in numbers as Greensleeves lost the ball in midfield and a good one-two left their striker with a simple tap-in. 3-1.

It was always going to be Greensleeves who had the final say however, and a spell of possession pulled the 'bombers this way and that before Matt turned his marker and played in Elliot , who finished into the far corner with the panache of Thierry Henry in his pomp. 4-1.

The final whistle sounded on a solid Greensleeves performance. Next up is a game against Chapman Freeborn, who are struggling near the foot of the table. Greensleeves will hope to embark on another winning run.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Elliot's pace and finishing was a constant threat.

STAT OF THE MATCH: Greensleeves have not kept a clean sheet since last seasons' 3-0 victory over the Dugout.
