Away league match played on 08 July 2013.
Kicked off at 8:50 PM

Greensleeves were unable to edge The Dugout after a tight encounter, but managed a draw that keeps them top of the table and may yet prove vital.

It was a poor start. With barely a minute gone the Dugout forward was allowed space outside the area and his somewhat tame shot found its' way in off the post. 0-1.

The Green Army responded. Holmesy had a shot from distance saved, and a great surge down the left from Sam saw the 'keeper block his effort well. A great ball over the top from Sam found Matt, but he couldn't quite bring it down and get a shot away.

Greensleeves looked the more likely to score next.

The Dugout had possession at the back, but couldn't really penetrate. Josh and Sam got stuck in and Dave hassled and harried.

Greensleeves should have equalised when they broke quickly. Matt put Dave through on goal, but his shot bounced agonisingly off the post.

The lads went in one down at half time, but continued to make chances in the second half. A superb exchange between Dave and Holmesy nearly resulted in The Dugout defender slicing a low ball into his own net.

At the other end, Eddie had to be alert. Josh was put under pressure and lost possession. The Dugout forward went through on goal, but Eddie rushed off his line, blocked the initial shot and cleared at the second attempt.

Greensleeves eventually got the goal they deserved. Holmesy found Matt out wide, who drilled a low ball into Dave, who had stormed forward. Dave ran in to finish well at the far post. 1-1.

Greensleeves went looking for a winner, but Eddie was again called into action as The Dugout found space. He tipped over a fierce shot from close range.

Eddie also did well to react to Sam's short back-pass as he rushed out to clear.

The last few minutes saw some sustained pressure, but the also held firm, and even had a chance to win it at the last as The Dugout 'keeper dallied on the ball.

Overall, it was a very solid performance with an excellent contribution from everyone, especially defensively. it was also the fifth occasion in a row that Greensleeves have come from behind to get a result. Whilst this fighting spirit is a positive aspect of Greensleeves' play, a better start next week would certainly make things easier.

Man of the match: Sam. Probably the pick of the bunch for an excellent defensive display, with a couple of attacking forays.
