Home league match played on 01 July 2013.
Kicked off at 7:00 PM

Greensleeves overturned a two goal deficit to emerge victorious against The Jaegerbombers, but it was not without controversy, due to an appalling display of refereeing.

A dreadful start saw Greensleeves fall behind. Josh picked the ball up in a comfortable position, but turned and attempted to pass the ball back to Eddie. Unfortunately there was a Jaegerbombers player between the pair, who gathered the ball and left Eddie no chance with the finish. 0-1.

It was 2-0 straight after. Jaegerbombers won a corner. Slack marking allowed their player to get a shot away. Sam did well to block on the line, but couldn't fully clear, and the rebound was slotted home.

Greensleeves now started to play. Matt played Holmesy through, but he screwed his shot wide.

Some great interplay between Holmesy and Dave ended with Matt missing awfully at the far post when Sam may have been better placed to shoot.

Holmesy had a shot well saved after the ball was pulled back to him, and it was just a matter of time before Greensleeves hauled themselves back into the game.

The goal came just before half time. Dave picked it up and played a lovely ball through to Matt, who smashed past the 'keeper.

Half time and Greensleeves knew they would win the game if they continued to play with intensity.

The second half kicked off, and immediately the tension rose. The ref began to make some peculiar decisions with regards to fouls. When Jaegerbombers won a free kick some distance out Greensleeves lined up to block the shot. The ball rolled away, at which point the Jaegerbombers player decided to run after it and shoot into the corner. The ball was moving and the kick was taken about 5 yards away from where the offence occurred, but this did not matter to the ref, who gave the goal. The Greensleeves players were incensed, with one or two perhaps going a little over the top in their protestations. A few niggles with opposition players continued as Greensleeves tried to get a foothold.

This only served to fire them up, as they stormed back into the game. Holmesy had a shot miraculously cleared off the line. Matt set up Holmesy for 3-2, and then Dave equalised for 3-3. It was suddenly 4-3 as Matt struck home following Dave's lay off. This all occurred within the space of a few minutes.

With the clock ticking down, The Jaegerbombers defender decided to run the ball across his own goal line. Matt nipped in to score the easiest goal that he is ever likely to get from a yard out. 5-3 and game over.

Greensleeves are top of the league with a crucial game vs The Dugout to come.
