Away league match played on 12 August 2010.
Kicked off at 6:00 AM

Boys work their socks off to share the title.

What a night for the boys, who got reward for all their hard work over the summer, click on the league link on the side and it proudly shows our boys at the top of the table. We finished level on points with Burradon. A final record of 7 wins 1 draw and 1 loss.

Blues who borrowed a couple of very strong players from the Yellow's side, certainly pushed us all the way, and most of our goals came from scrambles but our good play pver the season probably got us a much needed bit of luck.

All over the park we worked so hard, never backed off a challenge, and showed the desire needed to get the job done. First half it was pretty level, although we were pretty strong in defence with Harry & James doing well, with Aaron not putting a foot wrong. Up front Sam, Dane & Dylan were making it very hard for the Blues but we struggled to get round the strong Blues defence including the very tall lad from the Yellows side, who had equalised against us in the earlier match. End of the first half 0-0 and we asked the boys for a big final push.

Second half and we got the breaks our play deserved, first up it was a scramble Dane shot and Dylan is claiming he got his head to it to knock over the line, hope the top scorer doesnt go down to one goal, could do with a video replay. A few minutes later again a scramble after good pressure and this time it was fox in the box Dane to place it over the line for a 2-0 scoreline and a bit of breathing space.

Joseph who had come back on for the injured James sent in a typically good corner, which the keeper couldn't handle and Dylan was on hand this time to place over the line to give 3-0 lead.  Blue continued to be a threat on the break but Harry was superb at the back backed up by Joseph and Aaron, while Elliott put in so much effort tracking back.

From another corner we got our fourth, Elliott swinging it nicely and the unfortunate blues player, deflected it in to his own goal, so Elliott gets that one. For last five minutes James came on for Dylan who had worked tirelessly in the second half, allowing Joesph a run up front. We were now much the stronger side, and could have had two or three more, but the final word went to one of our stand out performers over the summer Sam, put away by Joesph he had a lot to do, but he did it and finished with style, for the pick of the goals on the night, great work Sam!

All the boys were fantastic as they have been all season, missing tonight was Josh due to a golfing injury, but who also has played a big part in our successful summer.  Great performance by all the lads tonight, Elliott for his work rate and skill just got the nod from the Blues coach for man of the match, super work .

Well done lads, now you can start to believe you are a very good side!!  Will have to arrange our Bowling night out and our own presentation evening, enjoy your success!!!
