The Hayden Eagles welcomed Foots Cray Lions Black to the Hayden Youth Association on 13 September 2026 for a 7-a-side friendly match, kicking off at 2:00pm. The home side produced a commanding performance to secure a comprehensive 6-0 victory over their visitors in a match that showcased attacking flair and defensive solidity throughout the 50 minutes.

Hayden Eagles lined up in a 1-4-1 formation, featuring Adonis in goal, protected by a backline led centrally by Theo. The midfield was anchored by Lucas and Elijah centrally, flanked by Brodi on the left and Azire on the right. Harrison spearheaded the attack as the lone striker, tasked with leading the line and capitalising on chances created by the midfield. The substitutes named for the Eagles were Edward, William, and Amelie, ready to inject fresh legs and maintain the tempo as the match progressed.

The game burst into life early on as Harrison opened the scoring in the third minute, demonstrating clinical finishing to give the Eagles an immediate advantage. The early goal set the tone for the home side’s dominance. At 11 minutes, Elijah tested the opposition goalkeeper with a shot that was well saved, signalling the Eagles’ intent to keep pressing forward. Harrison came close again a minute later, his effort rattling the post and narrowly missing a second goal.

Shortly after, the Eagles made a double substitution at the 14th minute mark, with Edward replaced Azire and William coming on to take up defence whilst Theo pushed up to midfield. Lucas subbed off. This tactical switch appeared to refresh the side’s attacking options. The impact was immediate as Harrison doubled his tally at 15 minutes, converting a well-timed assist from Elijah to extend the lead.

William quickly made his presence felt, delivering a long key pass at 16 minutes that created a clear chance, although Theo’s subsequent attempt went wide. Edward also tested the goalkeeper with a shot saved at 17 minutes, maintaining the pressure on Foots Cray Lions Black. William’s defensive contribution was notable at 19 minutes when he cleared danger, while goalkeeper Adonis confidently caught a cross moments later to keep the clean sheet intact.

Harrison continued to trouble the opposition defence, forcing another save at 20 minutes. The Eagles made another substitution at 22 minutes, with Amelie replacing Brodi on the left midfield, adding fresh energy to the flank. Elijah’s effort at 23 minutes struck the post, narrowly missing a third goal for the home side.

William added his name to the scoresheet at 26 minutes, capitalising on the momentum.

At half time the Eagles made a substitution: Lucas returned to midfield replacing Elijah, Azire came back which pushed Edward upfront and gave Harrison a rest.

Azire then scored at 33 minutes, further extending the lead and showcasing the depth of attacking talent within the squad.

Amelie continued the scoring spree at 37 minutes, finishing off a move expertly set up by Azire’s assist. Adonis remained alert in goal, making a crucial catch at 38 minutes to deny any hope of a comeback. Azire’s attempt at 40 minutes flew high over the bar, but the Eagles were firmly in control.

Elijah replaced Theo in midfield at 41 minutes. Edward stepped up to take a penalty due to a goal in the box at 42 minutes but was unfortunate to hit the post, missing a chance to add to the tally.

Adonis produced a spectacular full-stretch save at 51 minutes, maintaining the clean sheet and frustrating the visitors. At 52 minutes, Brodi returned to the midfield position, replacing Azire. The Eagles continued their relentless attack, with Harrison scoring his third goal at 53 minutes, assisted once again by Elijah, sealing a dominant 6-0 victory.

Throughout the match, Hayden Eagles demonstrated excellent teamwork, tactical flexibility, and clinical finishing, leaving Foots Cray Lions Black unable to respond.
