Hayden Eagles welcomed Total FC to the HAYDEN YOUTH Association on 6 September 2026 for a 7-a-side friendly fixture, kicking off promptly at 10:00am. The Eagles emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline after a lively 60 minutes of football plus added time.

The Eagles lined up in a 1-4-1 formation, featuring Adonis in goal, a solid defensive line led by Theo at central defence. The midfield was anchored by Elijah and Lucas centrally, with Azire operating on the right flank and Amelie on the left. Up front, Harrison spearheaded the attack as the lone striker. This setup demanded defensive discipline from the back four, midfield creativity and control from Elijah and Lucas, width and crossing from the wide midfielders Azire and Amelie, and clinical finishing from Harrison. The substitutes available were Edward, Brodi, and William.

From the outset, the Eagles showed intent with early attempts on goal. Azire tested the opposition keeper in the second minute, followed swiftly by Harrison’s effort a minute later. Elijah joined the attacking forays with a shot on target in the fifth minute. Azire again threatened at the ninth minute, while Amelie’s attempt came shortly after at the tenth.

The first tactical changes came in the 17th minute when Edward replaced Amelie on the left midfield, signalling a shift in approach. This was quickly followed by two more substitutions at the 18th minute mark: Brodi came on for Lucas in central midfield, and William replaced striker Harrison, indicating a fresh injection of energy in midfield and attack.

Theo stepped forward with an attempt on goal in the 19th minute, demonstrating his willingness to contribute offensively. Edward, newly introduced, made his presence felt with an attempt in the 21st minute and then rewarded his team with the opening goal in the 26th minute, giving the Eagles a deserved lead.

The Eagles made further changes just before the half-hour mark, with Amelie returning to replace Azire on the right wing at 28 minutes, Lucas coming back on for Brodi at 29 minutes, and Harrison reinstated as striker in place of Elijah at 30 minutes. Harrison wasted no time getting involved, testing the keeper again at 32 minutes.

Defensively, Lucas showed his commitment with a key intervention in the 34th minute, while Harrison continued to press with another attempt at 35 minutes. Theo was substituted off for Elijah at 36 minutes, and Edward made way for Brodi at 40 minutes, maintaining a fresh squad on the pitch.

Harrison remained a constant threat, firing another shot at goal in the 44th minute as the first half drew to a close. The referee Tommy then blew for half-time at 45 minutes with the Eagles leading 1-0.

The second half burst into life immediately as Harrison struck twice in quick succession at the 46th and 47th minutes, both goals expertly assisted by Amelie, who had returned to the pitch earlier. These strikes put the Eagles firmly in control with a 3-0 lead.

Brodi was substituted off for Azire at 48 minutes, restoring the original right midfield option. However, Total FC pulled one back at the 50th minute, preventing the scoreline from becoming too one-sided.

Both Azire and Amelie continued to probe for further chances, with attempts recorded simultaneously at the 57th minute. Adonis was called into action with two crucial saves shortly after, catching a shot at 58 minutes and punching clear another at 59 minutes, preserving the Eagles’ lead.

Despite Total FC’s efforts, the Eagles held firm to secure a 3-1 victory in this competitive friendly. The tactical flexibility shown through multiple substitutions and the clinical finishing from Harrison and Edward were key factors in the result.
