Cup dream over for Heddon! Heddon St Andrews cup dreams are over after a 6-4 defeat away at Prudhoe Town in one of the weirdest game of football this season. Heddon welcomed back a few players after last weeks heroics against Ryton and it was business as usual as the team cruised into a 2-0 lead with a brave header from Sean Hownam and a cute finish from Connor Ballantyne within 30 minutes. Prudhoe pulled one back after a bit of indecision from mr obvious David Wadds the delightful chip lifted the spirits of Prudhoe bang on half time. Handbags were thrown at half time between Prudhoes answer to Connor McGregor and the quiet, reserved, unprovocative Heddon frontman Dan Walker. Prudhoe levelled early into the second half before Sean Hownam bagged his 5th of the season with a sublime finish silencing the doubters of his finishing in recent weeks. The man is on fire this season! A bullet header from Dan Walker made it 4-2. Game over. Manager Dave Green at this point decided to take off mr obvious David Wadds and brought on Coco the clown in goal and the rest is history... Final score Prudhoe 6-4 Heddon. Man of the match - Mr Ramshaw with Ross and Appaz running him close. A disappointing result and a reality check for Heddon who must become more clinical, defend better and learn to see a game out if they want to deliver real silverware back to the Tuns. A week off now with the Derby next weekend then it's back to league action with a lot of wrongs to put right! Howay the Heed! Managers edit: story of missed oppotunities again and individual errors that cost us - both can be easily corrected for the next game. We were the better team today again and as per the blucher game its a game we should have won - someone is due a hammering off us. We have two home league games now - lets make it 6 points from 6 and keep our 100% league form going! Can't wait for the next game!!!
