Sharpshooters vs. Oxhey Jets B

We all met for this match knowing that we beat Oxhey 4-3 in the away game, where two penalties were conceded, so we knew that the opposition liked to con the referee.

Our team talk was about the same, keep it tight at the back and we know that we score goals.

It was a warm day, lovely conditions for playing football, however only complaint was the grass length, we could not see Hease.

We played well, conceding a silly penalty of which Griff pulled their striker to the ground, and the ref had no hesitation to award the penalty. The ball should of been cleared before it go to griff, but we learn from this.

The resulting penalty was scored, no chance for our Number 1 Griff.

We played some good football, we then gave away another penalty, very harsh on Nick was this, it was never a penalty. But what was nick doing back their anyway - Get up front and bang some goals

The resulting penalty scored, 2-0 to Oxhey.

We had a fight on our hands, Glen got carried away and picked up a second yellow for dissent to the ref and slamming the ball into the ground. Down to ten men! The sending off was deserved, you simply cannot give the ref stick and slam balls in front of the ref.

Our only real chance was Danny Howard, great ball in, half volley just skimming the cross bar.

Going in at half time, we knew we could get back into the game, we showed grit and determination especially when down to ten men.

We were all over Oxhey in the 2nd half, our second chance came to Sean, the ball rolled to Warren and he slotted home right foot into the bottom left corner, half volley. Keeper no chance.. Game on!

Our second goal came on 75 minutes, a long free kick by Conway, Warren attacked the ball and got ahead of the Keeper, 2-2, what a fight back.

The crowd of 16 went wild. Chants of ‘ Shooters, Shooters’ echoed the ground.

Can we get a winner?

Danny Howard hit the post after some lovely play by Nick and Warren, what we need to do is stop giving silly penalties away and red cards, we deserved to win. A Great Fightback and a well deserved point.

Onto Next week and iron out the negatives and a must 3 points vs Croxley
