Home league match played on 10 November 2012.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

..... till the final whistle.

A saying we here so often in football but on saturday shooters did just this. The last kick of the game saw us take the points which on the first half performance and chances we definately deserved.

A relitavely unchanged side from the win against Hunton Bridge saw us start well shooting uphill for the first half on a slippy levy green pitch. The first 5 minutes was all us - we started well and had a couple of good chances following 3 corners, ending wih Glen unmarked heading way over the bar. The first half was pretty much the same story with a few well worked chances for the shooters. But a well drilled Oxhey side gave us some scares - they found their feet and created a few chances of their own using the slope and their strong point the long ball. Our defence stood strong with Glen and Matt battling well in the middle backed up by hease and luke tucking in well.

Our attacking formation was almost our undoing, Martin getting forward to support the top 2 and danny runing the show going forward left us light at the back and on 28 mins Oxhey had a great chance well saved by the newly reformed Walker in Goal, handling well and commanding his box. Oxhey won a corner which Walker Claimed and punted long Bavs chased the ball donw and it bounced to Wazza who finished with coolness

30 Mins 1 0 shooters

We got to half time and reflected on the missed chances and un punished pressure. A quick change saw Jonny Davies take the field for his debut for the shooters. Replacing Danny in the middle of the field to try and tighten it up in the middle.

It seemed to have the desired effect for ten mins as we pushed forward to try and kill the game off... of course with puching forward it always leaves the back 4 open to a run through and this is exactly what happened on 55 mins a quick free kick from oxhey saw them through on our defence and a rifle shot into the bottom corner.. 1 1 nothing Walker could do.

Now we had a game on our hands, from the kick off some good work from Nick and Wazza saw us through on goal again but again chance missed. From the goal kick an unchallanged header released oxhey into our box again and shock horror 2 1 on 58 mins... from 1 0 to 2 1 dows, we do like to make things hard for ourselves.

So again we had the chance to see if we could turn it around again. Danny allen was introduced for Bavvo on 60 mins, Nick slipping back to Left mid.  Martin and nick continued their great work going forward and terrorising the aging defenders. With Jonny in midfield we continued to play some nice football and probe into oxheys reserve.

Eventually it came Nick dinking down the line and finding Jonny on 72 mins for him to open his account with a cool finish. 2 2 12 mins to go - now to push for the three points

This we did we pushed and pushed Danny causing all sort of trouble up top linking up with wazza well. But this did leave us open and oxhey who played well with their 2 quick wingers Hease was getting overrun so was rested on 78 mins for a fresh Duff to secure the wing position.

We kept playing with Jonny pulling the strings and releasing danny and nick on 3 occasions. Woul;d the winner come, we had 2 corners on the bounce and theri couldnt be long left, a third corner in a row saw Danny allen drill a great ball to the front post and wazza sticking his arse out pushed it over the line. The last kick of the game there is no beter feeling as no one can come back from that.

A well fought 3 points and on the whole deserved - oxhey played some nice stuff and WILL cause problems in this league this season.

We need to work on getting tighter and playing the easy ball, quick short passes, triangles, short corners throws to feet, lets start to mix it up and offer more for our team mates - next week will be a really tough game - we know Potten end well and they took 6 points from us last season

Time to push on and move on up that league - 3 points a must this saturday

Enjoy the rest and be ready for saturday
