and give Hunton a bunch of fives at the fortress

Back at the fortress and we felt right at home. Steping up a gear and bagging 3 points and a great team performance. Bavington took the MOM award but it could have been any of the 14 players today. A superb battling performance with some simple delightful football.

It was shall we say "A Blustery Day" that looked like it was going to cause some issues, we won the toss and went up hill, BUT the wind was behind us and Hunton started strongly but couldnt get out of their half. The wind and some great midfield play from Danny, Sean, Craig and Bavs saw to that. Numerous chances came and went in the first 20 mins. Hunton making a change early on with a big lump coming on up top - looked useful.

On 25 mins some great work from sean won the ball and a great pass putting nick in to cooly slot home. 1 0 shooters. We looked like pushing on and grabing anohter but it just didnt come. On 35 mins again sean won the ball but went down in a heap - Knee Ligaments OH NO. An early change and Craig slipping into the middle and Martin coming of up top. We looked strong but conceded a corner right on half time. Glen won the header at the front post but we were asleep, huntons striker slipped in and 1 1 Half time whistle blew. We spoke at half time of continuing to battle and lift ourselves - keep playing football and it would come.

Second half the wind dropped - we were going down hill and hunton had the sun in their faces, on 56 mins we broke through again a superb run from Martin down the right and a sublime cross found Wazza clear on goal - great touch and bang CUE the baby rocker 2 1. We continued to puch and some great play from luke and nick down the left won us a corner. Dannys left (Or right bothas good as each other) foot found bavington with a glancing header at the front post GREAT FINISH and Wazzas bet was blown out of the water - I HAD FAITH BAVO 3 1 - Cue the standing ovation - Bavvo having had a superb game was asked to take a seat next to me on the bench - on went Glen Wardel to boster the midfield. Craig and danny continuing to hold the number 8 and captain of hunton nice and tight we kept creating chances. Lee you must be cold out there.

On 72 mins nick terrorising the defenders again beat 1 beat 2 and down he went - PEN, Up steps Danny (Taking wazzas hattrick chance SORRY WAZ) Bottom right hand corner and its 4 1 game over. We kept it tight at the back and restricted hunton to a few corners and long range efforts. On 85 Duff was chucked up top giving Nick a well deserved Rest - Job Done Nick. Duff chased a ball down on the right and released Martin who had run at the heart of the hunton defence and scared the life out of them all game - again he fond wazza in the middle who cooly sloted through the onrushing Bridge keepers legs 5 1 and all was done.

A great team effort and it was pleaseing to see all 14 of us battling hard from the 1st till the last. Some nice football and chances taken - A week off next week so rest those weary legs - it would be nice to start the same 11 on our next outing. More of the same please boys - its a lovely thing to be writing reports like this.
