Away league match played on 14 January 2012.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

Another saturday came and went in the blink of an eye. An away game at last - off to potten end today which holds fond memories for myself - would taday add to them?

We met at the marchmont and all seemed in high spriits knowing another win would make it 5 straight and a guarenteed 4th spot.

We all gathered on the sideline for our prematch warm up and chat - talk was good and all seemed switched on. Glen won another toss and satyed facing out of the sun.

Potten end kicked off and pinged a long ball down the right flank, hease rose like a slamon and deflected the ball past Matt and Glen to a potten foot slotted past the on rushing griff with ease 1 - 0 down 1st min, what a disasterous start for us.

Time to step it up, we started to ping the ball about and louis was winning everything in the air in the middle. Unfortunately for us Potten end decided they were going to play the long ball game (Making a mockery of my 4 - 5 - 1 formation) and bypassing our midfielders.

Another ong ball punted down the flank put their winger in and he broke throgh and off the post and griffs back and in 2 0 10  mins gone

HOW IMPORTANT is the first 10 mins - we always speak about it and today it had been proved but not in our favour.

We battled back into the game and created a couple of chances for the lonely Warren up front, some good play from hease hitch and sean saw a cross come on and a header from Matt went wide.

The final nail in the coffin came in the 15th minute another long ball found its way into our net. 3 - 0 15 mins

"You just cant get back from this position so early in the game but i will say something about the shooters, this week showed there is a nucleus of 6 or 7 players who never stop, they battle, they commit, they ask the question and they do it for themselves the team and i hope me.There is howerver a few players who turn up and dont put in the effort required, when its going good its all fine but when our backs are against the wall they get foubnd out, You dont have to be the most gofted players in the world commitment will get you a long way on a football pitch. When i played back in the stone age i wasnot the most gifted but i would give 150% every game and never miss a tackle - granted some times it was the man! But we are a team so its time for those who can give more to do so and step up to the mark, its not time for names or slagging off.Talking of slaging off it crept back into our game again this week we need to stamp this out. It affects everyone and stops our game."

A few chances fell our way in the last 20 mins but mostly from free kicks or corners - free kicks from Matt, Warren and Louis all found the potten keeper in good form. We kept going and pushing them for a life line.

We also seemed to have stopped the long ball into our heart and this was encouraging

We got to half time and regrouped - we knew be had to battle on in the second half and get an early one.

A few changes coudlnt open potten up who were solid at the back.

Lee on for Hitch 50 mins

Danny H on for Bavs 55 mins

Steve Probert on for Luke 70 Mins

Danny with the bast chance of the match a right foot curler from the right saw the keeper spring to push it wide.

Then it was time for some handbags - Glen and Nolan blowing kisses to each other and all hell breaking loose. To be fair to all the players it is by far the worst referreing display i had seen this season but thats not the reason we lost. That was all our own doing.

We kept going to the end and warren had a chance from 5 yards out but all in all today was not to be our day.

Thoughts of looking up the table turned to looking over our sholders as we drop to 7th. A tight league indeed.

Onwards and upwards to next week away to top of the league-  will be a true test of our Bouncebackability.

We need more commitment from all 11 next week and im sure if we do what we know we all can 3 points will come our way!

Thats our kick up the arse... best thing to do is RESPOND

Much Love

The Boss!
