Away league match played on 03 November 2012.
Kicked off at 12:45 PM

Back on the 3g this week against another team who were unbeaten in the league. Not as cold as last week but still chilly for the spectators but the game soon sprang into life and should have warmed the crowd.

It was an end to end game with Heyside missing some gilt edge chances in the first half, as we have always said get an early goal and it knocks the other teams confidence, once again though Heyside let the opposition gain their momentum and had chances of their own. It's probably one of the hardest tests the lads have had this season and they all deserve a pat on the back for not giving in when under pressure.

The better play came in the second half with both teams stretching each other with some excellent build up play, you have to credit both teams for having a right good go for the winner when both could have easily settled for a draw. Even fresh legs and a change of tactics still couldn't produce the all important goal and nerves from myself and Dave were starting to show, the lads started to become frustrated and this played into Chadderton's hands as you could see their confidence growing minute by minute.

They say patience is a virtue and they are truely right, as the most patient of players stepped off the bench to become an instant hero...JACK DOWD !!!!

With minutes remaining Heyside bombarded Chaddertons goal, Alex flicked on a deft header only to be parried by the keeper and the bravest of the lot Jack stuck his head on the rebound to put Heyside into the lead. The crowd were in raptures as he was surrounded by all the players for they knew this was another great win for the team.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant from all the players...no negatives from me this week as Dave and myself was very proud of every single one of you, we know you can play better but it was the grit and determination that got you the points.
