Honest Lawyer vs Lincolnshire Colts

Match kicked off at 10:40am, first chance of the match fell to Lincs feet but was foiled by a great save from Aiden Sparkes, Lincolnshire Colts had a lot of possession in the first five mins but the ball broke free to troy who had yards of space in front of him.. after a mazy run he put across a delightful ball for brad but he could only hit the bar with his acrobatic volley.

The game was a fairly contested match with some good challenges being put in but Honest having most of the ball possession but unable to do much with it, After a hoofed clearance by Danny Hawkey, Chapo reacted quickest to the bouncing ball to knock it past the onrushing keeper but could only put the ball over the bar from 18 yards on the stretch. After abit of to and fro with Honest goalkeeper not touching the ball troy had the only shot of note in that 10 minute spell which flew well over the bar. Brad received the ball just inside the opponents box and with a couple of step overs and a shimmy left and right he made space for a shot which had to be well defended with a sliding block. This was followed by some good counters by Lincolnshire Colts which required some good box work from Aiden between the Honest Sticks, A great free kick delivered in by Lincs caused panic in the Honest box and Aiden had to be at full stretch again to keep them at bay and from the resulting corner Aiden again came to the rescue with a fantastic finger tip save from the top corner.

after these corners a Incisive Honest breakaway lead to Barber finding space on the right and laying the ball across the box to the near post where brad was waiting and with a cheeky back heal almost found the bottom corner if not for some more good goalkeeping by the Lincs Keeper. Panic in the Lincs box then resulted in Gav prodding the ball at goal and the keeper had to be at full stretch to stop the ball dead on the line, Honest had all the possession and it was only a matter of time before another attack happened, this time it was Brad popping up on the right hand side and launching a cross which found Chapo unmarked at the back post, but unfortunately for Honest he took his eye off the ball at the crucial moment and his tame shot went straight into the arms of Lincs goalkeeper, Just before half time Danny Hawkey put in a fantastic challenge on the Lincs Captain who then continued to give it the Big Licks and Honest won a free kick.

Half Time.......... 0-0

Straight from the off Honest looked to attack with intent and after great work Brad ran through on goal only to be hacked down by the onrushing keeper, but oh my word the referee waved play on, no one can quite believe it including the Lincs Players everyone saw it except the referee, Sloppy play in the Lincs final third saw Chapo realise Brad who coolly slotted past the keeper 1-0 Honest.

Sloppy defending just TWO minutes later let Lincs back in with a soft, soft goal 1-1

That goal must of hit the Honest players hard as straight from kick off the ball was lost and Lincs threatened again but once again some more good box work from Aiden kept the scores level, Lincs then went again once again with a ball over the top for the striker to run onto but the onrushing Aiden came out to hit row Z, Then finally Honest got a chance Harrop threading through a lovely ball for Brad to slot him his second 2-1

Lincs countered again but this time a good stop by aide stopped equalizer corner was whipped dangerously across 6 yard box but luckily no one could get a touch. Lincs fighting back hard, last ditch challenge by hawkey followed by Honest being saved by the bar and the ball bouncing off the line and being cleared for a corner. the resulting corner ended up in a good header away by John. Subs came on, ammo for Hawkey and Harry for Gav. Lincs were starting to get more of a foothold in the game, as the game got scrappy, a good break by Lincs led to another good stop by Aide before a John clearance. After a good offside call Lincs striker complained that he didn't know who the lino was and Lee has to remove his jacket to his absolute annoyance. After a few minutes Ammo brought the ball forward playing a great pass into Harrop who played a delicious cross for Chappo but he just couldn't contact with his diving header. Once again Lincs looked dangerous only being stopped by a god clearance from John resulting in a corner. Lincs whipped in a lovely corner to the near post in which the Lincs centre back rose like a salmon to smash a bullet header into the top peg 2-2.

Minutes after kick-off Troy broke and lofted a ball into Brad, Barber took the ball from Brad and was unlucky not to get more than the corner, Harrop played in the corner to which the keeper spilt and Chappo just couldn't get on the end of it Troy won a free kick off the clearance. Free kick was lofted in by Harrop but Chappo could only hit the keeper with his header. after a lot of too and fro with no real action of note Barber fired one across the box only just slipping past the post, sub Steve on for Keith, from a Lincs throw the ball was hoofed forward landing kindly for the on rushing striker to loft the ball over Aidens head and into the Honest net. 3-2 Lincs.

Straight from kick-off Honest looked menacing but with only 2 minutes left of play something had to done John sent Brad through down the right hand channel which ended up in Lincs defender putting in a last ditch challenge to give Honest a corner Brad swung in the corner to the near post where Troy got his toe end on it to divert it past the keeper and into the bottom corner. 3-3.

With the last chance of the game Lincs went through 1 on 1 but was denied by a fantastic save by Aiden with his legs giving Lincs a corner a one final chance . A corner was drilled in from the right Lincs centre back got another towering header away which was heading for the roof of the net but a fantastic save by Aiden diving high to his left and tipping the ball onto the bar kept the score at 3-3 and after the clearance the full time whistle went.

3-3 first point of the season.
