Away friendly match played on 02 April 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Last match of the season Phew!.Match started late, I got a bit lost, again. As for this  part of the season, we only have a squad of six players. We started the the game with six,but not our normal six. we had a ringer his name. Jobe Gordon LoL.

Jobe is Noah's six year old brother. he started and finished the game, as one of our squad John, was a bit Late ( Gez i told you to get a A-Z of leicestershire LOL). he played really well, showing no fear, getting in with tackles and making some good runs. Well Done matey.

Anyway both team were evenly matched, the fixture at our ground, we lost by one goal.

as our team was made up, it took us time to warm up, Barrow scored two quick goals.

the second goal being a flukey ball in the air that luckly went under the bar Bad luck and good effort byLiam who played in goal in the first half.(Liam did some great kicks )the third goal Liam made a save, but could not get it away then they scored.by then John had got to the game(Well Done Gez) so the match was seven vs seven. Shay and Noah had stared at the back. Jobe in midfield with Khyial , and Ted up front. Ted had a good chance early part of the first half, a shot, he just went wide of their post. When John came. I swaped them round, Put Shay and Noah up front with Jobe, and got John, Khyial and ted to drop back in defence, this seem to give the team a bit more balance. and it paid. Ted made a great tackle in our half and got the ball to john, who dribbled and made a good pass to Shay up front. Shay ran with the ball on his own from near the half way line, and drilled a shot past their keeper, to get a goal back.

This gave our team confidence, and they battled on attacking and defending well.

second half, changed team round, put Noah in goal, and i put Liam in midfield in the hole between the defence and Forward line. This worked wonders as Liam took to his roll well supporting the defence and supporting the forward line. Jobe got involved in midfield, and the boys did well, Shay did some great runs, and got the ball in the box from the left hand side on a few occasions, from one attack Liam, John and shay were camped in Barrows box, but just could not score. We had around three corners, shay got the ball in well, we jut could not capitalise. As for Noah in Goal. he did great. he was as brave as a lion, and made some great saves with his hands, and some fantastic clearances. His Goal kick were fab as well. Barrow did score a Forth John got on the ball, It just got under his feet, Barrow ran onto it and scored.Shay played well again up front and was a hand full. The ref was young lad, i guess he is just starting out on his reffing. Don't want to be negative as the game needs lads like him to carry the batton. unfortunately consitance, was not in his book. Ho Hum ! well done lads.Manof the match was is always hard as the whole team always play well, the two best player were Shay an Noah, shay played well in the first half and scored, and in the second half he rang at their defence , got some good cross in, and played really well, again Noah was good in first half and a revalation in goal in the second, so it was tie. Took the Team for some Brunch at Mcdonalds, to thank them for their efforts this season. Once again thank to my helpers Brendon and Steve. And to the Mums and Dads and grand parents who bring the players to training and to the matches, Your efforts are greatly appriciated by myself and everyone at  Houghton.
