On 26 April 2026, Lads Club Juniors U12 hosted Ludlow Town FC U12 Lions at Widemarsh Common in a 9-a-side league encounter that kicked off promptly at 10:30am. The home side emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline after a competitive 60-minute match, including added time, in front of 34 spectators.

Lads Club Juniors lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back: Louis Howells on the right, Archie Rigby centrally, and Charlie Arnold on the left. The midfield quartet consisted of Thomi Scoular on the right flank, Zayn Prosser and Flyn Watkins occupying central midfield roles, and Joseph Lee on the left. Oscar Jones was positioned as the lone striker, tasked with leading the attack. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity through the back three while allowing width and creativity from the midfield four, with the striker expected to capitalise on chances created. The substitutes named were Charlie Clueit, Chase Bracegirdle, and Finn Jones.

The match began with early attacking intent from Lads Club Juniors. Charlie Arnold tested the opposition goalkeeper with a shot saved in the fifth minute, quickly followed by Oscar Jones’ attempt a minute later, which was also denied. Ludlow Town FC Lions responded with a close-range effort that required a sharp dive at the feet from goalkeeper Lucas Price in the eighth minute to keep the scores level.

Louis Howells had a chance to open the scoring in the 11th minute but his effort flew high over the bar. Defensively, Charlie Arnold was alert to clear a dangerous header in the 14th minute, while Zayn Prosser made a crucial tackle two minutes later to disrupt the visitors’ momentum. Lucas Price contributed further to the defensive effort with a vital clearance in the 18th minute.

Lads Club Juniors began to create promising chances as Oscar Jones executed a clever slide pass in the 19th minute, which was quickly followed by a cross from Thomi Scoular that set up a clear opportunity. Zayn Prosser’s shot from this move was saved, maintaining the deadlock. Shortly after, a triple substitution was made at the 20-minute mark: Charlie Clueit replaced Charlie Arnold in defence, Chase Bracegirdle came on for Oscar Jones up front, and Finn Jones took over from Thomi Scoular on the right midfield.

Archie Rigby attempted a header wide of the target in the 26th minute, and Chase Bracegirdle’s effort was saved two minutes later. The half was closing in with Lads Club Juniors maintaining pressure and defensive solidity, with Zayn Prosser intercepting a pass at the 30-minute mark and Archie Rigby making a timely tackle soon after. Both Rigby and Joseph Lee had shots saved in the 33rd minute.

The breakthrough came in the 34th minute when Joseph Lee scored from inside the box with a right-footed finish, he beat the last defender to tick it in nicely. This goal gave Lads Club Juniors the lead just before the half-time interval. Flyn Watkins was replaced by Thomi Scoular, who returned to the pitch, and Oscar Jones was reintroduced in place of Chase Bracegirdle. Oscar Jones then provided another through pass to maintain attacking momentum.

Thomi Scoular’s attempt went wide in the 39th minute, and Finn Jones replaced him shortly after due to injury. Lucas Price made another crucial save diving at the feet in the 40th minute. The home side extended their advantage in the 42nd minute when Chase Bracegirdle was taken down on the edge of the penalty box, he stepped up to the challenge and converted the penalty with a composed right-footed strike.

Louis Howells was instrumental in defence, making a vital tackle in the 43rd minute and another chance-preventing tackle at 47 minutes. Joseph Lee continued to threaten with attempts in the 44th and 46th minutes, though both efforts missed the target. Louis Howells intercepted a pass in the 49th minute, showcasing his defensive awareness.

Further substitutions saw Thomi Scoular return to replace Flyn Watkins at 48 minutes, and then Oscar Jones went back off for Chase Bracegirdle at 51 minutes due to sun cream in his eyes??. Lucas Price caught a cross confidently in the 53rd minute, and Louis Howells intercepted again at 54 minutes, the same minute Zayn Prosser scored a spectacular long-range strike with his right foot from outside the box, making it 3-0.

Shortly after, Charlie Clueit replaced Louis Howells, and Finn Jones came on for Joseph Lee at 55 minutes. Chase Bracegirdle created another chance with a flick pass in the 56th minute, followed by a saved attempt from Thomi Scoular.

Ludlow Town FC U12 Lions pulled a goal back in the 57th minute with a solo effort from outside the box, finished with a right-footed strike, but it was not enough to prevent the home side from securing a 3-1 victory.

Lads Club Juniors U12 demonstrated a well-organised defensive structure combined with effective attacking transitions, ultimately earning a deserved win on home soil.
