Dave Shearing and his Langney Wanderers Team welcomed an unbeaten Roffey side to Shinewater Park expecting a tough top of the Table clash. Therefore there were no surprises as both teams set out with intention to play attacking football. It was Langney Wanderers however who got into their rhythm early as they played with control and good use of both flanks to attack the Roffey defence. This soon developed into a recurring pattern for the first half as a constant barrage of crosses from Jamie Morgan on the right flank and Gianluca Del-Gaudio on the left were consistently intercepted by Aaron Jeal in the Roffey goal as he picked off one by one each high cross.  The second half began as the first half ended with Langney again continuing to take control of the game by using the two Flanks to pressure, but this time the crosses were driven lower and were more threatening causing mistakes to be make in the Roffey defence. With Roffey now under pressure it triggered panic in their defence causing mistakes. This pressure by Wanderers was rewarded in the 52 minute as a pass from Del-Gaudio to Paul Rogers and a mistimed tackle allowed Rogers evade both the defender and the on-coming Jeal in the Roffey goal. As Rogers continued it looked as though the chance had gone only for him to look up and produce a sublime chip into the Roffey net to put Wanderers into a well-earned lead. The early goal in the second half seemed to send Roffey into further panic as in the 62 minute Mark Warren ran the ball into the Roffey penalty area and with the oncoming Jeal a pass across goal found Shane Saunders who converted into an open goal. At 2-0 Roffey changed to a more direct route by introducing a long ball over the top and were un-lucky in the 74 minute as a long through ball from Alec Hayes found Damon Aston whose early shot looked to be in but was disappointed as he saw the ball hit a rebound of the Wanderers post. With the treat Shearing brought on Riki Prodger for an injured Mark Warren, this helped to re-energise the Wanderers Team as in the 90 minute another penetrating cross from Jamie Morgan was headed onto for Kyle Feneron to volley home to secure the 3 – 0 win.  Match Report By Paul Sargent
