Leicester City welcomed Peterborough United to their Training Ground on 5th July 2025 for a friendly match that ended with a convincing 3-1 victory for the home side. The match kicked off at 12:30pm, with a modest attendance of 499 fans witnessing the action unfold.

Leicester City lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, a tactical setup designed to provide both defensive stability and attacking flair. Jakub Stolarczyk took his place in goal, shielded by a back four consisting of Ricardo Pereira and Luke Thomas as the right and left defenders, respectively, while Ben Nelson and Caleb Okoli formed the central defensive partnership. In midfield, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp operated as the double pivot, tasked with controlling the tempo and linking play. Ahead of them, Wanya Marcal-Madivadua and Stephy Mavididi occupied the right and left attacking midfield roles, with Michael Golding positioned centrally to support striker Jake Evans.

The substitutes for Leicester included Stevie Bausor, James Justin, Olabade Aluko, Conor Coady, Victor Kristiansen, Will Alves, Boubakary Soumare, Louis Page, Jeremy Monga, Jayden Joseph, and Silko Thomas.

The first half saw Leicester dominate possession, but they were unable to convert their chances into goals, leading to a goalless stalemate at the break. However, the second half brought a flurry of activity, starting with a series of substitutions as Leicester looked to inject fresh energy into their performance.

Just after the interval, Louis Page replaced Oliver Skipp, while Silko Thomas came on for Jake Evans. Jayden Joseph took the place of Stephy Mavididi, and James Justin replaced Ricardo Pereira. The changes continued with Stevie Bausor stepping in for Jakub Stolarczyk, followed by Boubakary Soumare for Harry Winks, Will Alves for Michael Golding, Victor Kristiansen for Luke Thomas, Conor Coady for Ben Nelson, and Olabade Aluko for Caleb Okoli. Finally, Jeremy Monga came on for Wanya Marcal-Madivadua.

The breakthrough came in the 63rd minute when Louis Page scored the opening goal, expertly assisted by Olabade Aluko with a short pass that allowed Page to find space inside the box and finish with his left foot. Leicester's lead was short-lived, however, as a defensive mistake from Stevie Bausor in the 74th minute led to Peterborough equalising with a goal from one of their players, who capitalised on the error with a well-placed right-footed shot.

Leicester responded swiftly, regaining the lead just four minutes later. Page was again on the scoresheet, this time converting a cross from James Justin with another left-footed finish inside the box. The home side sealed their victory in the dying moments of the match when Silko Thomas scored a stunning goal from outside the area, assisted by a long pass from Jayden Joseph, showcasing Leicester's attacking prowess.

In the end, Leicester City emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline, demonstrating their strength and depth as they prepare for the upcoming season. Louis Page's standout performance, highlighted by two goals, earned him the Player of the Match accolade, leaving fans optimistic about the team's prospects.
