Northerners Blue U13 travelled to Port Soif on 10 October 2026 for a 12:00pm kick-off in a league away fixture against Rovers U13. The 9-a-side match lasted 70 minutes plus added time and ended in a commanding 14-4 triumph for Northerners Blue.

Deploying a 2-1-4-1 formation, Northerners Blue set up with two central defenders, Max Ellis and Fin Cochrane, tasked with providing a solid defensive base. Oliver Whitwam started in goal, expected to marshal the backline and keep the opposition at bay. Ezra Leaman operated as the lone central midfielder, linking defence and attack, while the four attacking midfielders—Connor Gardner on the right, Theo Ferbrache centrally, Morgan Finn slightly advanced, and Jarvis Humphrey on the left—were charged with creating chances and supporting the lone striker, Josh Garland. Garland led the line as the focal point of the attack, looking to convert opportunities into goals. The substitutes bench included Max Ellis, who would later come on, and an own goal credited as a substitution event.

The match burst into life early on with Jarvis Humphrey opening the scoring in the 6th minute, expertly finishing with his right foot after a precise assist from Josh Garland. Northerners Blue’s attacking intent was clear from the outset, with Humphrey’s early goal setting the tone.

As the game progressed, the midfield and wide players combined effectively. At 24 minutes, Connor Gardner doubled the lead, converting a corner expertly delivered by Jarvis Humphrey. Just two minutes later, Humphrey struck again, this time assisted by Morgan Finn, showcasing the fluidity and sharpness of the attacking midfield quartet.

Rovers managed to pull one back in the 26th minute, but Northerners Blue responded immediately. Josh Garland restored the three-goal cushion in the 27th minute before Theo Ferbrache added a fifth goal a minute later, assisted by Gardner. The visitors were relentless, with Morgan Finn heading home a close-range corner from Humphrey in the 30th minute, further extending the lead.

The first half concluded with Northerners Blue firmly in control at 7-1. At half-time, a substitution saw Max Ellis replace goalkeeper Oliver Whitwam, a tactical switch that did not disrupt the team’s momentum.

Shortly after the restart, Ezra Leaman scored a stunning right-footed strike from outside the box in the 39th minute, demonstrating his ability to contribute offensively from midfield. Garland continued his prolific form, netting twice more in quick succession at 42 and 43 minutes, both goals assisted by Humphrey and Gardner respectively.

Morgan Finn added another headed goal from a corner in the 47th minute, again set up by Humphrey, who was proving to be a constant threat down the left. Connor Gardner then scored his second of the match in the 49th minute, once more assisted by Humphrey, who was instrumental throughout.

A substitution at the 50th minute saw the own goal by a Rovers player credited as coming on for Josh Garland, marking a unique moment in the match. Humphrey continued his scoring spree with a goal in the 53rd minute, maintaining his remarkable influence on the game.

In the 56th minute, Oliver Whitwam, now on the field, scored from close range following an assist by Gardner, adding to the flood of goals for Northerners Blue. Rovers managed to score twice in the 63rd minute, including a long-range strike, showing some resistance despite the heavy deficit.

Humphrey struck once more in the 67th minute, rounding off a remarkable individual performance. Rovers grabbed a late consolation goal in the 68th minute, but it was too little too late.

Northerners Blue’s 14-4 victory was a comprehensive display of attacking prowess and teamwork, with Jarvis Humphrey standing out as a key figure, contributing multiple goals and assists. The 2-1-4-1 formation allowed the team to dominate possession and create numerous scoring opportunities, which they ruthlessly converted throughout the match.
