MEFF #22 – FAT KIDS ALWAYS WIN AT SEESAW 2 - 1 NO LIKEY, NO LIGHTY:

A close MEFF ended with Daz extending his unbeaten run to 7 games after a tense encounter that produced some excellent passing moves but lacked any kind of quality in the final third! A very close first half ended all square once Pete had cancelled out Neil’s early effort, and after Crozier had dribbled home the eventual winner, Fat Kids Always Win at SeeSaw maybe should have put the game to bed, but Griffiths had a penalty expertly saved by Sicky Sam (awarded by Referee Brett when Griffiths was scythed down in the area), and then Patto, Daz and Griffiths all missed relatively easy chances as first-time shots were curled or heeled wide!

In the final 5 minutes the game really opened up as Sicky became an outfield player, but Steels denied the best efforts of No Likey, No Likey, palming headers from Fletch and Griff wide, while Griffiths got in a vital tackle to block Pete’s tap-in, and Aidan was also denied from left. Spence and Neil also had a number of audacious long range efforts when Sicky was off his line, but they couldn’t hit the target.

1-0: Neil(robbed the ball off a defender and smashed his shot high into the roof of the net)

1-1: Pete(Luke ran from his area unchallenged and produced an exquisite pass through three players that Pete finished at the front post)

Half Time

2-1:Crozier (Griffiths’ throw evaded the heads and volleys of everyone and found an unmarked Crozier at the back post, who scuffed his unconvincing volley into the bottom right corner)

Men of the Match were Crozier, who defended well and was involved in most of the attacking moves (and scored the winner), and Griffin, who never gave up and offered defensive cover and support in attack.
