Oracle F.A. hosted Atechem Royals FC at the Dunkwa Youth Resource Center on 8 March 2026, with kick-off at 3:15pm in a crucial league fixture. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate after a tense 90 minutes plus injury time, leaving both sides to share the spoils.
Oracle F.A. lined up in a classic 4-3-3 formation, deploying a balanced setup designed to control midfield and utilise width in attack. Ebenezer Quaye Ansah guarded the goal, supported by a back four of Oscar Acquah at right-back, Shawers Asare and Robert Eshun as central defenders, and Buckman Obeng on the left. The midfield trio consisted of Michael Anderson on the right, Seth Adu Boateng centrally, and Isaac Boateng on the left, tasked with both defensive duties and creative support. Up front, Jonas Koudadje operated on the right wing, Michael Agbi led the line as striker, and Obeng Prince took up the left forward role, expected to cut inside and provide goal threat. Amos Asaase, Justice Aidoo, Samuel Atakorah, Richmond Asante, Steven Ahialorxo, William Ahialorxo, Mark Damoah, and Kojo Ansah were the substitutes.
The match burst into life early on when Oracle F.A. took the lead in the ninth minute. Michael Anderson delivered a precise short pass from the right midfield, setting up Obeng Prince who unleashed a powerful right-footed strike from long range that found the back of the net. This early goal gave Oracle a boost and set the tone for an open contest.
However, the game’s physicality soon came to the fore. At 15 minutes, Seth Adu Boateng was booked for a bad tackle, signalling the referees’ strict approach to challenges. Oracle’s midfield presence was tested as the Royals looked to respond.
Just three minutes later, Oracle made a tactical substitution, with Mark Damoah replacing striker Michael Agbi. This move suggested a shift in attacking strategy, perhaps to inject fresh legs and creativity upfront.
The first half concluded with Oracle holding their slender advantage, but Atechem Royals were far from subdued.
After the break, the game continued at a high tempo. Oracle made another tactical change in the 65th minute, bringing on Richmond Asante for right midfielder Michael Anderson, aiming to maintain energy on the flank and keep the pressure on the visitors.
Discipline again became an issue for Oracle when central defender Robert Eshun received a yellow card in the 77th minute for persistent infringements, highlighting the mounting pressure from Atechem Royals.
Shortly after, in the 78th minute, Jonas Koudadje was substituted off for Kojo Ansah, another tactical switch to refresh the attacking options on the right wing.
With the match entering its final stages, Oracle made their last substitution in the 88th minute, with Atakora Samuel replacing left midfielder Isaac Boateng, presumably to shore up midfield and help see out the game.
Despite Oracle’s efforts to hold on to their lead, Atechem Royals were awarded a penalty deep into injury time. In the 92nd minute, the visitors converted from the spot with a right-footed finish, cancelling out Oracle’s early strike and securing a dramatic late equaliser.
The draw leaves Oracle F.A. with a point gained but perhaps two dropped at home, while Atechem Royals will be satisfied with their resilience and late intervention.
Obeng Prince’s early goal and overall influence earned him the player of the match accolade, a deserved recognition for his decisive contribution in front of goal.
Oracle F.A. will look to build on this performance as the league campaign progresses, but the late penalty reminder of the Royals’ threat will linger in their minds.
