FC Ellies 0 vs 2 PSV Athletic

PSV Athletic looked to have the first chance as Jack Evans broke the offside trap on the left side in the eighth minute.&nbsp;Evans sent a pass teasingly halfway across the goal before the Ellies centre back could frantically put the ball out of play <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p>Moments later, Blades, who scored 12 goals in Division Two last season, latched onto a searching ball from midfielder Jake Wood. <p>The Englishman then held off the fullback, controlled the ball beautifully with his left foot and with his excellent dribbiling abilitiy, he managed to get into a shooting position which he then cooly slotted the ball past the stranded goalkeeper to make it 1-0. <p>Ellies nearly pulled it back, but a late lunge from skipper Paul Scowen put off the Ellies striker as he looked set to convert a sizzling cross. <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 12pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 6pt; background: white;">PSV were close to doubling there lead after great link up play between Tom Byrne and Matt Drew down the right hand side which led to Byrne drilling the ball to Drew who&rsquo;s great dummy then fell to the feet of Brown who snap shot was blocked and scrambled away for a corner. <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 12pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 6pt; background: white;">But Brown was not to be denied 11 minutes before the break as he beat the offside trap to latch on to Blades's defence-splitting pass and beat the Ellies goalkeeper with a superb finish from the inside-left channel. <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 12pt; margin: 6pt 0cm; background: white;">And,&nbsp; minutes before the break, Aaron stooped to make a seemingly routine save from the striker&rsquo;s drilled shot but contrived to let the ball squeeze through his gloves and over the line.
