Jack Evans romped to the top of the Division Two scoring charts as PSV outplayed FC Vaults<br /><br />The striker&rsquo;s hat-trick was a first for the club and was earned due to a cracking performance in PSV's final friendly before the new season versus Primrose with the hero scoring a last minute solo winner.<br /><br />Manager Tam Brown has talked up Evans&rsquo;s &shy;credentials as the player to watch this season and the Englishman presented his own case in the most compelling way.<br /><br />Within the first 8 minutes, PSV had the lead. Keiran Parry, who recently celebrated his 21st Birthday, started in perfect fashion by setting up Evans with a lobbing pass over the defence and Evans's strike was too much for the home goalkeeper to keep out. <br /><br />The visitors were afforded all kinds of space by a Vaults side intent on passing the ball at all costs, and in the 32nd minute they had doubled their advantage which started after good link up play with skipper Drew and Brown which led to Brown being brought down near the byline. They were rewarded for their endeavour when Evans struck his second goal of the day from Adde's free-kick.<br /><br />Evans struck his hat trick just before end of the first half as Tam Brown's side raced into a three-goal lead inside 38 minutes when Evans and Critchlow's sharp link up play was too much for newly promoted FC Vaults and Evans then smashed the ball high into the FC Vaults net. <br /><br />The home side tried there hardest to fight back by scoring instantly into the second half with a cracking strike in off the bar from the corner of the box. <br /><br />Just before hour mark, PSV were fortunate not to concede again when Tom Brown's wayward pass nearly gifted Vaults a second but thanks to both posts being struck and some heroic defending from Davies and Hopwood, PSV managed to keep the ball out and straight away nearly scored at the other end with a Jake Wood cross to Critchlow's head which beat the goalkeeper but was cleared off the line from the home centre back. <br /><br />Vaults refused to give the game up and thanks to a dubious penalty decision after Adde supposedly fouled the Vaults Striker just inside the PSV box, the striker was back up to then coolly slot the penalty into the bottom corner sending the goalkeeper Craig Aylett the wrong way. PSV managed to hold the game and get the full three points and now have a two week break to get ready for their cup tie against Old Parkonians. <br /><br />PSV boss Tam Brown: "I think it was a perfect away result but not a perfect performance. We had to grind out the result. It was a very scrappy second half for us.<br /><br />"We've done a great job today. Our time spent in pre-season has stood us in good stead. We showed today that physically and mentally we were 100 per cent ready for Division Two.<br /><br />"The game was won comfortably in the first half, perhaps not taking as many chances as we'd have liked, but that doesn't matter now because it's a 3=2 victory and three points on the board
