Home league match played on 04 October 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Well what can you say about todays performance?

It was a classy, slick, attacking performance with all of the players up for it.

Carrying on the team spirit from previous weeks Charlie Walker presented each of the players with various colours of Alice Bands which went down a treat and brought plenty of laughs after the team photograph.

Rosehill went into the game with a very strong squad having won their last 3 games with their impressive performances after a first game blip.

Rosehill started off on a mission and could have been 5 up inside the first 20 minutes with some quality play only to be denied by the Knoll FC keeper who made Shay Given look average.

Rosehill broke the deadlock on 18 minutes with Stonham scoring a class goal following an assist from Freeman. Stonham made it 2-0 on 30 minutes with a team move assisted by the ever dependable Freeman.

A goal just before the break with a class opportunistic goal for the never stop running Sharp. Just after the break Stonham secured the points with a hat trick and well derserved it was with a quality ball from defence from Chris Emmett.

Charlie Walker got his first on 62 following an assist from Mark Davies. On 69 super cool Shrubby lobbed the keeper after a great diagonal over the top pass from Lee Smith. On 75 Charlie got his second following a team move with Lee providing the clinical pass.

Adam in goal did not have a save to make all game and a great shot from the Knoll FC forward gave him no chance from distance.

The celebrations were fun today with plenty of imagination especially from Shrubb and Charlie with the whole team joining in.

The referee was superb and let the game flow and was patient and tactful.

This was easily Rosehill's best performance of the season and the defence played their best all season with Tom, Lee and Chris being strong and first to the ball made all the difference.

Wing backs Aaron and Shrubby ran their hearts out and gave Rosehill plenty of width going forward and defending when needed although they were in the oppositions half at every opportunity.

Newman and Sharpy in midfield both gave excellent accounts of themselves and were at the heart of every move.

The 3 subs of Mark Davies, Max Derkson and Dan Kixhaus gave their all and were involved in the thick of it when they came on.

Up front our brilliant strikeforce of Stonham and Walker once again reaped the benefits bring their tally to 17 between them for the season so far.

Onto the next game which is a cup match against Black Rock Rovers, division 5 who go into the game on the back of a 53 home defeat against BHA supporters.

We need to be up for the game next week and a cup run would be great for the team,

Morale is high, individual team performance is high, team spirit is high and the will to win and succeed is high.

This was without doubt the best performance of the season so far and if we play the same next Sunday we will be through to the 3rd round of the cup.

On a final point our nearest rivals Shoreham 3rds lost today against Knowles FC 5-3 who we beat away 2-1.

ROSEHILL go top of the league and with more performances like today will see Rosehill gain back to back promotions.

The hardest thing for Tony and Gary now is trying to pick a team with everyone playing so well the competion for places is immense. The other difficult task is to pick the man of the match which once again was between 3 players with Lee Smith getting it just in front f Shrubby and Freeman.

EXCELLENT performance today and need to be even better next week.

Cheers

Tony
