It was the home side however who took the lead after 13 minutes. James Aishford's shot struck a defender and striker Daniel Latham pounced on the rebound to score. Both sides had opportunities to score as the first half progressed, but at the interval it was still 1 - 0 for Red Star.
On the hour the visitors levelled the score. The Red Star defence  had defended resolutely from the start of the match despite facing the divisions leading goalscorer. However they were caughted out when the visitors lanched a swift counter attack to equalize. Red Star did not allow the goal to faze them and they continued to play with great determination and skill. After 70 minutes they were back in front. A Wallis centre back attempting to head clear just inside his own half misjudged  the flight of the ball and back headed the ball towards his own goal. It was Brad again who was the scorer of the Royal's third goal, and it was another good solo effort after 81 minutes. His first shot was parried by the keeper, but the ball broke loose and he scored from short range. The visitors were reduced to ten men shortly afterwards, when one of their players was sent off for a second yellow card.
With a couple of minutes remaining Red Star scored a fourth and. Brad was again involved.
