Home league match played on 11 October 2014.
Kicked off at 1:45 PM

Riley's 2nd home game at St Georges and still have yet to find the net.

Fate was striking Riley's early on as manager Craig Poxon had to make 4 changes to replace missing players.

From kick off it was Barton United on the heavy pressure, with a cross coming in and the striker getting a head on it keeper Ben Emery making a fingertips save forcing the ball onto the crossbar and out for a corner, the ball comes back in and the same striker gets his head on it again this time hitting the post and is clear by Ryan Skivington.

Barton were enjoying a good spell of attacking play forcing Emery into more saves. Riley's when on the ball seem to be panicking and hoofing the ball up the pitch.

In the 11th minute Robinson wins the ball in the air at the cost of a foot to the face, he has to leave the pitch for treatment, play continues with Sean Parker filling in the gap. After 4 minutes off manager decides that further treatment is needed and a sub is made and Robinson is replaced by Steve Robey, who will be looking to make amends on his previous performance. ( Ben Robinson is sent to local hospital for further treatment)

In the 17th minute Riley's get there 1st shot on goal when a cross comes in low Jamie Allen get a good swing hitting the ball hard and low but keeper gets down to make the save, this leads however to a counter attack and Robey is wrong footed and loses his man, who pushes forward and slots in the corner. 0-1

Riley's now stepping it up from the kick off go on the attack, Khile Uylett coming back in to his midfield applying the pressure sends Jamie forward on the side and the passing game begins, Captain Ben Rex-Bryd joins in on the action. Riley's win a free kick on the near the box, John Lathbury has stepped up to take it, and he hits a beauty straight over the wall forcing the keeper to dive and send that ball over his bar. Jamie takes the corner and a good delivery in John rises but can't send it towards goal.

Barton back on the pressure work a ball playing one touch passes around the box leading to a shot and a goal in the 30 minute. Riley's needing something from the kick off attack and to avoid the momentum shift Barton perform a couple of heavy tackles which win Riley's a free kick 35 yards out. The Barton player begins to debate with the ref has words for the player and sends him away, Because he does keep his trap shut the ref orders him back and take the red card out of his pocket and holds it up, realising his mistake he switches it and holds up a yellow card. (confused yet- I swear in the rules once a red card has been issued and shown there is no going back, even if the ref wanted too)

Half Time

Sasha is brought on for Brittian who was having trouble with his knee, which make this Riley's 2nd forced substitute.

Barton strong from the start again continue to bring out the best in Keeper Ben Emery, Riley's responding with some great dribbling and turning through Sasha, he delivers a cross into the box and a shot is hit on goal forcing a save out of the Barton Keeper. Barton go back on the attack testing the right side of the defence, But Stephen Jackson continues to give them no breathing space Adam Dickerson backing him up at every opportunity. Steve Robey putting in his best performance so far wins a sliding challenge on edge of box, there's a scramble and the ball is away passed out and finds Khile Uylett taking forward Jamie Makes a run which is seen and Khile sends a ball over the defenders, Jamie charges for the ball, but the Barton keeper is charging also Jamie gets to it 1st and tries to send it over the keeper, the keeper blocks it with his hands 5 yards outside of his box, the Referee doesn't give it. Manager Craig Poxon charges from his technical area going mental at the ref, he can't believe he could be so blind as the day he left his mothers cunt.

Substitution and Jamie makes way for the returning Crofts

Riley's seeing more procession of the ball the 2nd half finally get some momentum passing but get caught out and Barton steal the ball and find the cross, the striker gets a full on volley and Emery dives and saves, the striker can't believe how he has got to it. On the 62th minute pressure continues from Barton and there forward finds a through ball pass, he shoots hard at Emery who saves but a rebound gets converted in.

Heads re currently down and Riley's are loosing there fighting spirit and a defensive mistake leads to Barton making there way into the box and the striker unselfishly passing it across goal for a tap in, Emery got a hand to it but just couldn't keep it out.

Against really tough opponent's Riley's were lucky it could of been a lot worse and have their man of the match keeper Ben Emery to thank for keeping at the top of his game. With a string of good performances shown, Manager Craig Poxon will be looking onwards to next weeks game a rematch against The Blacksmiths for their 1st win of the season.
