Home league match played on 15 December 2013.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

Rose recorded their first win in 4 league games thanks to a brilliant team performance from start to finish.

As soon as the whistle blew Rose were knocking the ball around, making the opposistion chase the ball for most of the game. However it was Tint My Ride that had the first effort on goal, a sloppy backpass from Wila saw a Tint striker latch onto the end of it, only to see his effort trickle wide of the post. Rose again piled the pressure on but were guilty of missing some guilt edge chances. Tint then took a shock lead, a long-ball over the top saw JJ (Starting his first game for the club) out-muscled to the ball, however at this point the away player still had a lot to do, but somehow found an unmarked player at the back post for him to nod in a soft diving header.

After this, Tint did not have another effort on goal in the first half and at times had all 11 players defending for their lives in their own half. Rose missed plenty of chances with Winty, Ben, Dale and Sim all having good opportunities to equalise. Winty also had an effort ruled out for offside. The equaliser did come 4 minutes before half-time thanks to persistant play by Ben who smashed the ball into the back of the net following a rebound.

'More of the same' was the talk at half-time and Rose quickly went ahead, this time Winty netting from close range after good work from Dale. Pakie who was restored back to his favoured midfiled position was having a storming game and nearly increased the lead after a great run finished with a shot just going wide of the post.

Again Rose had another effort ruled out for offside, this time from Ben, with the linesman flag happy all game long. despite for all of Rose's possession and chances at 2-1 the game was never over, that proved to be the case when a long ball over the top saw Wila and a Tint player battle for the ball inside the Rose box, Wila won the ball as sweet as a nut howver after a dodgy dive (after which the player admitted to) the ref, some 35 yards away awarded a penalty. Dec went the right way but could not get to the well struck penalty.

This had started to seem like the story of our season so far, but not today. An instant reply saw Winty battle for the ball before smashing a low effort into the bottomw corner. 3-2. Jock then replaced Ben and Rose operated a 451 formation with Dale and Callum pushing on. Dale then had to good chances but the away goalie made smart stops to deny Dale a long over-due goal. Rose did manage to grab a 4th goal, good control by Jock found Sim, who's vision to pick out the speedy Callum was immense, Callum then took a touch to steady himself before again finding the bottom corner.

MOM - Very hard decision today with every player contributing to the match. Sim was his usual brilliant self again in the middle, JJ starting his first game gave us a different dimension than in recent weeks, Winty for his 2 goals and Adam again growing in confidence at left-back. All the other players i have not mentioned also had very good games. Pakie however turned in a cracking performance, his best so far for the club, he covered every blade of grass, went in hard on all his challenges and drove forward with the ball without losing his calmness to release to other players.

Thats it now until 5th January, when we host S&D Solutions in the next round of the league cup.

Have a good Christmas from all at Rose and Crown FC.
