Away league match played on 11 October 2009.
Kicked off at 1:30 AM

A hot streak that came to the end,

Arsenal Vs Man. U come to mind, god only knows how we lost.

The build up to the game was less energetic and focused then it usually is, maybe because of the new kit, maybe because we only met an hour before kick off.

We did not start the game well with large gaps between the midfield and defence continuously exposed, Vista certainly came out to beat us and showed signs that they had it in there locker.

We got our act together midway through the 1st half and started to take advantage of the pace on the wings and gave them something to worry about, enough for the lineo to develop some kinda reaction to us getting in behind as after a few near misses he started to call us offside every time we came forward. Our objections to this were not received well by what can only be described as a week ref.

The ref for his part was equally poor to both teams in regards to timing, positioning and decisions with little consistency through out. The only thing he would do with any conviction was to aggravate and ignore reasonable questions booking those who spoke to him rather then shouting at him.

The vista goal came from a free kick dubiously given, the kick was 40yars out and floated in to the box and met by an attacker and guided away from Daz and in.

After the goal we pulled our sock up and had two very good chances notably a chance that came back off the post and along the goal line, the linesman pointed to a goal kick at this point? Joker!!!

A few more chances fell our way but none were taken and the half finished 1-0 Vista with us on the front foot.

The second half started as the first finished with us making all the head way and Vista reduced to lumping the ball forward in a kinda counter attack that was easily delt with by Bocco and Kingers when he came on. It also saw Vista to play a 4-4-2 instead of the 3-5-2 they had played in the first half testament to the fact they were hanging on.

The debut from Dan Burnett was good he showed loads of energy and played with his head up and looked like he will be a huge asset to the team.

Alexandre Cantarino another debutant showed all of his trickery time and again to reduce the Vista defence to tatters and for their manager to bemoan his team’s organisation. Continuously sharp passing and urgency proved to cause Vista problems and after every chance the Vista manager was heard asking “how long left?” and “how did that not go in”

Wasted chances were the our undoing ultimately with two one on ones most notable.

Cleaver play from Jay Jr and Bocco setting Phillip through with a nice defence splitting ball only for him to direct his shot at the keeper.

And the second coming at the death of the game after Shane absolutely embarrassed the left back and centre back and slotted in a low cross for the Levi so side foot around the keeper and over the bar…! Many sighs were heard at that point and a realisation that this was not our day.

10/10 for resilience and sprit but today was just our day.

Its all about the bounce back ability now boys, we must do better in the next game.
