Away league match played on 16 October 2010.
Kicked off at 3:00 AM

This weeks match report comes from Stuart "Kammy" Williams:

Famous Moments -

Potso's beautiful right footed cross field ball
Flat ball for the whole of the first half
Loads of chances missed
Great defending
Record number of handballs (most not given)

As seems to be the tradition this season, Scuns start the game with the bare numbers and Jim and Nath are asked to play in a different position again. As also seems to be a tradition with Scuns our warm up of hitting the ball really hard at Kenny was going well. It does its job of making us look really shit as well as stretching the legs out when we have to the ball from miles behind the goal (luckily for Bel there was nothing behind the goal this time so he could sky as many as he wanted).

The game kicked off and Scuns started well dominating at the back (apart from down the right hand side) and creating lots of chances upfront, for Rids to miss, where had the relaxed side foot finish from the previous week gone?! This unfortunately lead to some frustration from most people as we started to give away a number of needless fouls and our passing started to turn to crap. As was explained well by Wince, the game became scrappy with Scuns passing to Crosby and then Crosby duly passing it back to Scuns, in other words it was awful.

The second half started well with the Ref finally realising that the ball was actually flat even though I had been telling him all through the first half, his excuse been that it was down to the weather (I didn't understand either). As with the end of the second half the standard of football was pretty poor with Scuns having a number of poor efforts from distance as we seemed to be panicking on the ball. This would most likely be due to the fact that the only talking from the Scuns players was abusive screaming for mistakes we kept making! The Ref was not helping our mood as he came up with a new rule that you are now aloud to catch the ball in football.

Eventually we got the kick up the backside we may have needed as Crosby some how scored, even with Wince and Kenny trying their hardest to bring someone down. For the next 25 to 30 minutes we camped out in the Crosby half putting cross after cross into the box. We even became desperate enough to send Simo upfront to flick on a long throw which unfortunately Jim just hit over after a good first touch. Every shot seemed to be heading either wide or just over and everyone began to get the feeling that this was not going to be our day. I then brought it upon myself to lighten the mood by trying to hit a 25 yard cross field ball with my right foot to Steve K, which as everyone could have predicted did not reach its target slicing back to Kenny who duly sliced it straight out for a throw in!

Eventually Scuns scored after another long throw flicked on by simmy with Jim making sure he didn’t miss this time. Again Scuns piled on the pressure to the point where even Wince found time to make a forward 'run', I use the word run loosely as it looked a bit like a guy trying to run in quick sand! Over the last few seasons this game would have ended a draw as we have become quite good at dropping stupid points. With only seconds to go Nath got the ball on the right hand side near the edge of the Crosby box, hitting a low right footed drive into the bottom corner. Luckily for Nath he didn’t miss as the box was full with players about to scream their head off at him for not passing! As soon as Crosby restarted the game the whistle goes and Scuns have their deserved win.

The showers are enjoyed by all with not 1 Crosby player using them, Scruffy Buggers, dirtier than Nana’s poo bag!!
