Away league match played on 22 January 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

This was a must win game, if we wanted to improve our league standing, but it was also an oppurtunity for players to show what they really can do and almost everyone stood up to be counted.

Coalpit Heath took the kick off and attacked strongly for the first few minutes but resolute defending from the back four saw them off and with our second, I think, serious attack MATTHEW PETTIFER crossed into the box for CAMERON to pass the Ball into the net. 3 minutes later our midfield pairing oF BEN & GEORGE combined and George finished off a good passing move to make it 2-0. Number 3 came from a COREY freekick 5 meters into their half on the right hand side, he struck it hard into a sea of players and it looked bound for the keeper but CAIN turned extremely well to volley the ball past everyone!

15 minutes gone and 3 up but Coalpit Heath continued to attack with numbers but again MATT MILES, TOM, OLIVER and COREY seemed to stop everything with KERIAN BRYANT only occasionally leaving his line to collect the ball and I don't think he needed to even make a save in this first half! More goals followed quickly after CAMERON got his second and our fourth when OLIVER pushed forward from left back and passed through for him to score. 2 Minutes later and OLIVER got on the score sheet himself with an assist from GEORGE. 3 minutes later we won another Freekick about 3 metres from the edge of the area but right in front of the goal, COREY stepped up calmly and with a measured kick lifted it high over the wall where it dropped into the top corner with a foot to spare. David Beckham would have been proud of that one!

6-0 at halftime so a few changes were made. Mention should be made of JORDAN who worked very hard on the left wing but he was switched to the right side to allow KEIRAN on within a minute he missed a good opportunity but within 2 COREY passed a lovely hard and low ball for KEIRAN to place the ball into the far right corner with his trusty left boot. Unfortunately KEIRAN had not fully recovered from his groin strain so that was his game over. Coalpit Heath now had the wind with them and they did attack well and KEIRAN had a couple of saves to make but he took them in his chest and held the ball well. This kept TOM & MATHEW MILES busy so I couldn't move either of them to a more forward position but gave TOM an opportunity when DANNY was brought down in the area but sadly he missed it!

Not to worry though DANIEL Whittaker came back from sickness and within moments had several clear goalscoring chances but squandered them before SAM chased, tackled, and then rounded a couple of players showing real skill and determination to pass to CAMERON who shot cleanly for his hatrick! Before coming off CAMERON had a part to play in our NINTH goal as he put DANIEL through for the goal we knew he had coming. Finally, to put the icing on the cake, TOM managed to break out of defence and feed a ball to BEN who finished to put us into double figures for the first time ever!

A marvellous performance that you can be proud of boys now we have to do it again but against some stronger opposition!

WELL DONE

KEITH
