Sisonke Academy Seniors hosted Khithiza at their home ground in Dundee on 31 May 2026, with kick-off at 13:00am in a keenly contested league fixture. The match ended in a 4-2 victory for Sisonke Academy Seniors after a pulsating 90 minutes plus injury time, witnessed by a crowd of 250. Referee Bongani Zwane oversaw the encounter, which saw Sisonke Academy Seniors assert their dominance through a potent attacking display.

Sisonke Academy Seniors lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, deploying a back four of Bayanda Khumalo at right back, Mpiwe Khumalo and Mzwandile Madondo as central defenders, and Jules Ponzo on the left. The double pivot in midfield featured Black Blacky and Kwanele Dlamini, tasked with shielding the defence and distributing the ball forward. Ahead of them, Errol Smale operated as the attacking midfielder, linking midfield and attack. The front three consisted of Anotha Zulu on the right wing, Caslin Mncwangi leading the line as striker, and Ayanotha Majola on the left wing. The goalkeeper was Fanele Maphise. On the bench, Ashley Parker, Bilo Ngadi, Prince, Deco, and Deli were named as substitutes.

The match burst into life early on with Sisonke Academy Seniors taking the lead in the 12th minute. Caslin Mncwangi played a neat short pass to Anotha Zulu, who expertly finished with his right foot to open the scoring. This early goal set the tone for the hosts, who looked to press high and exploit the flanks.

Sisonke Academy Seniors doubled their advantage in the 25th minute through a spectacular effort from Anotha Zulu once again. Kwanele Dlamini delivered a precise long pass from outside the box, allowing Zulu to control and strike a right-footed shot beyond the goalkeeper. This goal showcased the effectiveness of the midfield’s vision and the forward’s clinical finishing.

Khithiza pulled one back in the 35th minute via a penalty, awarded for an infringement in the box. The visitors’ penalty taker calmly converted with a right-footed strike, reducing the deficit and injecting renewed hope into their side. The first half concluded with Sisonke Academy Seniors leading 2-1.

Just before the interval, Sisonke Academy Seniors made a tactical substitution, replacing central midfielder Black Blacky with Ashley Parker. This change aimed to refresh the midfield and maintain control heading into the second half.

The second half resumed with Khithiza equalising in the 55th minute through a close-range right-footed effort described as a fluke, which caught the home defence off guard. The goal levelled the match at 2-2 and intensified the contest.

In response, Sisonke Academy Seniors made a double tactical substitution in the 58th minute, bringing on Bilo Ngadi for Errol Smale in the attacking midfield role and Prince aged 14 for striker Caslin Mncwangi. These changes injected fresh legs and attacking impetus into the team.

The substitutions paid dividends in the 66th minute when the 14 year old striker Prince scored a sublime lob from outside the box, assisted by a short pass from Anotha Zulu. The goal restored Sisonke Academy Seniors’ lead and demonstrated the impact of the tactical reshuffle.

Just four minutes later, Anotha Zulu completed his hat-trick with a close-range tap-in, capitalising on a precise cross from Ayanotha Majola delivered from the left flank. This goal extended the lead to 4-2 and effectively put the game beyond Khithiza’s reach.

Further tactical adjustments followed in the 75th minute as another 14 year old made his debut Deco replaced Ayanotha Majola on the left wing, while Deli came on for the injured Bayanda Khumalo at right back. These substitutions helped Sisonke Academy Seniors maintain their shape and see out the remainder of the match.

Throughout the game, Sisonke Academy Seniors demonstrated a well-organised defensive structure combined with incisive attacking play, particularly down the right flank where Anotha Zulu was a constant threat. The midfield duo of Dlamini and Parker ensured balance and creativity, while the front three’s movement and finishing proved decisive.

In the end, Sisonke Academy Seniors secured a valuable three points with a 4-2 victory over Khithiza, maintaining their strong home form and delighting the home supporters in Dundee.
