South City Fc travelled to Roadblock to face Prison Fc in a keenly contested league away fixture on 7 June 2026, kicking off at 12:30pm. The match ended in a 2-2 stalemate after 90 minutes of intense football, with both sides sharing the spoils in front of 200 spectators.

South City lined up in a classic 4-3-3 formation, aiming to balance defensive solidity with attacking flair. Brian Birgen took his place in goal, shielded by a back four consisting of Th Vikctor at right back, Bedan Muchiri and Malachi Ade as central defenders, and Fabian Otieno on the left. The midfield trio featured Myles Morales on the right, D Dennis centrally, and Alvin Lole on the left, tasked with both creative and defensive duties. Up front, the attacking line comprised Georges Mbeumo on the right wing, Rodney Korir leading the line as striker, and Alvin Kivuva operating on the left flank. South City’s substitutes included L Glen and Sam Kiptoo, ready to make an impact if called upon.

From the outset, South City looked to utilise their wide forwards and midfielders to stretch Prison’s defence. The first breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Alvin Lole delivered a precise long pass into the box, finding Georges Mbeumo who finished clinically to open the scoring. This early goal set the tone for a lively encounter.

South City doubled their advantage in the 35th minute through a penalty awarded for an infringement by Prison. Alvin Lole stepped up confidently and converted from outside the box, further asserting his influence on the game. The visitors appeared to be in control at this stage.

Prison’s frustration began to show as they received a yellow card in the 42nd minute for persistent infringements, a warning that did little to stem South City’s momentum. The first half concluded with South City holding a 2-0 lead.

The second half saw an immediate change for South City as L Glen replaced the injured Alvin Kivuva at the interval, a necessary adjustment to maintain attacking width and pace. However, Prison mounted a spirited comeback.

In the 66th minute, Prison halved the deficit with a stunning direct free-kick from long range, struck with the right foot, which left Birgen with no chance. This goal injected renewed belief into the home side.

South City responded by making a tactical substitution in the 70th minute, bringing on Sam Kiptoo for Rodney Korir to freshen up the attack and regain control in midfield battles. Despite this, Prison continued to press.

The visitors’ defence faltered late on, allowing Prison to capitalise on a defensive mistake in the 88th minute. The opposition’s left-footed finish brought the scores level, much to the delight of the home crowd.

The match ended 2-2, a fair reflection of the contest where South City’s early dominance was countered by Prison’s resilience and opportunism. Alvin Lole was named player of the match for his pivotal role, contributing a goal, an assist, and consistent midfield creativity throughout.

South City will rue missed chances and defensive lapses but can take heart from their attacking display and the battling spirit shown at Roadblock. Prison, meanwhile, earned a valuable point through determination and set-piece quality.
