A sparkling display by St Andrews as we tore apart 22nd B recording our biggest ever win in the process. The game began with the ref constantly blowing his whistle for ridiculous decisions as he threatened to spoil the game as our players became frustrated with his inapt showing as a so called ref. We managed to settle down however and started playing some neat football,  it wasn’t long before we scored the opening goal when after 10 mins Aaron led the ball to Gazza who hit a cracking effort from the edge of the area into the top corner 1-0, shortly after the opening goal we had a setback as Tommy had to reluctantly come off with a cut above his eye ,Daryl went on to left back with Adrian moving into centre back, it had little effect on our play as we continued to dominate with Boot getting his chance to end his goal drought on the half hour but missing the target, on 35 mins there was some neat interchanging passes with Davy Gazza Boot and eventually Aaron whose effort was well saved, a minute later Aaron got his goal and our second with a spectacular overhead kick into the net 2-0, 38 mins Boot missed again just shaving the upright from inside the box, on 40 minutes Boot missed again, Aaron with a run down the right played the ball across the box and with the gapping goal at his mercy Boot somehow got his feet in a tangle and the ball went wide, Aaron then had a shot blocked on the line before Boot missed again shaving the cross bar with a right foot shot in the box, half time 2-0. We flew out of the traps in the second half and on 46 minutes Boot missed again, only joking he finally broke his duck with a fine finish after another good team move 3-0, a minute later Winky set up Aaron who fired into the top corner 4-0, then Aaron tried another overhead effort before Glenn went on a run and shot just over, Boot missed the target on 49 mins and Glenn forced a save from 22nd keeper as we bombarded there goal as we showed no mercy, it was Winkys turn to have a pop as his thunderbolt from 25 yards rattled the crossbar, 52 minutes Aaron went on a mazy run and finished of with a cool strike to complete his hat-trick 5-0, Aaron broke free in the box again before being brought down, Boot stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake for his second of the game 6-0, Aaron had another chance to add to his tally picking up a pass from Davy and chipping the keeper only to hit the bar, he did get his fourth on 66 minutes with another cool finish to make it 7-0, Gazza then had an effort following another team move which sailed just wide, on 70 mins Boot got his hat-trick in spectacular fashion with a Henry type goal which flew into the net 8-0, Simon who had very little to do all afternoon had become bored so decided to dribble past two 22nd players on the edge of his box before coolly passing the ball to Adrian, on 84 minutes came our record breaking goal when 22nd player lost the ball in his own half Calum picked it up and ran on goal finishing neatly in the corner of the net 9-0, and on 85 minutes Boot missed again. An excellent display of firepower on show today as we march into the next round of yet another cup to face York Road B.
