Home cup match played on 08 October 2011.

A two goal blast from the impressive Aaron and a thunderous free kick from Winky eased the St Andrews into the next round of the Bunting Cup. One change was forced upon us from last weeks demolition as Lawerence was ill and was replaced in centre midfield with Winky. Our opponents 10th OB put up a battling performance as we struggled on a muddy pitch to control the game, they took the lead after 10 mins as we were caught napping at the back allowing there forward to fire low past Simon, we equalised soon after when Winky stepped up to take a free kick just outside the box he left 10th keeper with no chance powering in the equaliser, we began to dominate as Winky made a daisy run from our own half only for his shot to be blocked then on 20 mins Gazza fired in a shot just inside the box which 10th keeper made a great save to tip the effort over the bar, as much as we dominated possession 10th always looked dangerous on the break, they had an effort just go over the bar and on 22 mins they took the lead again as we pushed up looking for offside we got caught out as there winger rolled the ball to there striker who shot into the empty net 2-1 to 10th, we piled forward in search of an equaliser, Aaron trying an audacious overhead shot which went wide then powering down the right wing he hit a beauty cross to his strike partner Boot who fired over, Gazza then had a shot saved before Boot volleyed over then Aaron had a shot which 10th keeper fumbled but there defender managed to clear to safety, Winky also fired in a shot from inside 10th box which went just over, 0n 38 minutes we got our deserved equaliser with Boot laying the ball to Aaron who made no mistake to equalise 2-2, we continued to push forward when Glenn hit a fine cross into the box which Boot headed with as much power as a babys fart, we took the lead just before half time when the ball fell kindly to Aaron inside 10ths box and he cooly fired his shot into the bottom corner to give us a 3-2 half time lead. The second half was a duller affair with few chances, on 47 mins Callum found himself in 10ths box and fired past there keeper only to see his shot cleared of the line, Davy then had an effort go just wide and when Boot played a lovely through ball to Winky he looked sure to score but put his shot well wide, Besides Simon picking the ball out of the net twice he had few saves to make, when he was called into action near the end he got down to save well, his overall handling was great today he even came outside his 18 yard box at one stage i thought Boot had spiked my ribeena as i seen this jolly yellow giant running outside his box, being in unknown territory he had to be gently laid back to his 6 yard box.Unfortunately we could only use one sub today, at 3-2 the game was on a knife edge and we couldnt risk making any changes. Not an impressive performance against a determined 10th OB made all the more difficult on a terrible pitch but we rolled our sleeves up and grinded out the win to play either 68th A or Creagagh Ym in round 2.
