Home league match played on 15 December 2013.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

STARLANDS BOYS were told last week that Heat Hayes were bottom of the league & Brereton would be the toughest team they'd play....how wrong they were !

Heath Hayes were early to arrive and looked a big bunch of lads.

They had a huge No.9 up front supported by two electric wingers. They had a rock like defence that repelled all attempts by Starlands to clear their lines...it was like the tide coming in!

Starlands were down to 9 players - with Ben P at Karate , Jed long term injury and Aran out with man flu.

The boys started with Kieran at right back  - and he continued in good form. Zak went up front and was not accustomed to such a forward role....and looked much better when he swapped with Kieran and returned to partner Marcus and Tom in defence.

Callum was his usual dynamo self - and was everywhere, It was proving difficult for Oski upfront with little support. Josh & Luke showed glimpses of skill and one touch passing - but to be fair Starlands were always second to the ball.

Heath Hayes played some nice one touch stuff - were not afraid to take a player on and then beat them for pace. It looked like it was going to be a long day for Starlands , and the score could easily be double figures.

Ben K - is getting plenty of practice and was in inspired form - like Marcus he was suffering with a cold - but thank goodness both turned up to play their part.

The 1st goal was played through the middle - and despite the attentions of Marcus, the striker tucked away the goal.

The 2nd was blasted into the roof of the net from close range - Starlands were failing to close the opposition down - and all too often the ball was being crossed into the box, it just happened on this occasion the winger got on the end of it!

Ben K pulled of a number of quality saves to keep the boys in the match - the best of the bunch saw him dive to his left corner and keep hold of the ball ! Goodness where that save came from ? I had put it down as a goal !?....

Starlands were unlucky notto get one back just before half time. A set piece corner was altered by the Revolutions proposed new management aka Marcus Dad booming instructions to Kieran to get ontop of the goalkeeper.....not literally pf course. Anyway , following the goalmouth scramble - Kieran tucked it away - given by the referee, it was then disallowed by the linesman....shame :(

The first half finished 2-0.

The 3rd goal was from good passing on the edge of the box - again Ben was rooted in the mud powerless to stop it.

The fourth followed a corner - and point blank save by Ben , but the striker was first to react with Starlands failing to clear the ball.

The 5th goal - again was the result of good football by Heath Hayes and tired legs...Ben got a hand to it - but the power took it in.

Tom , Marcus and Zak were doing a valiant effort of trying to disrupt the continual Heath Hayes attacks...when the final whistle blew....a look of relief was clear to see on all the boys faces....

Just don't say we're playing bottom of the league again ;)

Marcus was voted Parents Player & Ben K retained the Managers MOM for the 3rd consecutive week.Personally I think MMOM - should stand for MOST MUD  of the match !

WELL DONE BOYS - ENJOY CHRISTMAS - AND WE HOPE BEN P GOT HIS BLACK BELT!...AND THE OTHERS GET WELL SOON :)
