Home league match played on 18 January 2015.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

The game was switched from Aldridge due to waterlogged pitch - and to be fair Dean was never gonna complain with The Red Star facilities !...not that a bar has anything to do with it!

Can we play here every week???!

A long range shot by Luke in the early minutes was saved - was closely followed by x 2 great saves from Ben.

A rampaging run by Nick was eventually brought to an end on the edge of the Red Star box...for Red Star to head straight back up the other end and burying the ball in the net 1-0

A header from Aaron to Josh was hit just wide..

Then a shot from Red Star which was saved and followed by another point blank rebound save from Ben.

Red Star keeper kicked long and first Aaron then Nick failed to head the ball clear...the striker was through 1 on 1 with the keeper and hit a long range shot to make it 2-0

Red Star were growing in confidence...and their Striker turned Nick inside out on the edge of the box and hit a sweet shot to make it 3-0 !

Marcus was displaying some Brazilian silky skills with flicks and tricks playing first touch passes with Luke and Oski. One such back flick fell to Oski who played it onto Azza whose shot was saved.

HALF TIME

Starlands struck early on with the pace of Azza always a threat...Oski linking up with Callum, shots reigning in from all angles like a game of ping pong...but eventually it fell to Azza who slid the ball home to give Starlands hope at 3-1

Red Star kicking up hill had a corner - and the cross deflected off Kai to leave Ben stranded and the score 4-1

Ben was seeing plenty of action with Red Star taking advantage as the Starlands defence pushed forward to try and get back in the game. The massive gap at the back left exposed by Aarons inexperience in the position allowed the No.14 through on goal on more than one occassion...Starlands could have been in trouble if not for some great covering by MArcus and Nick.

Saying that Aaron, showed potential - and it wouldnt be a surprise for him to have a headache Monday morning with the amount of times he headed the ball ! Well Done.

Kieran cam on at the back and never shows any mercy - hoofing the clearances off the park ! " Have it !"

Callum was everywhere in the first half and just ran out of a little steam in the second....but hardly surprising...and Azza coming off allowed the Red Star defence to rest easy with his pacey threat removed.

A throw in,...a few swinging missing kicks from Kieran, Marcus and then Callum allowed the forward through on the bouncing ball and smashed it in off the cross bar ! 5-1

From another corner, missed by everyone..the Red Start player was at the back post with a header that went agonsingly inside the post. Ben said after. " There was no way I was diving and running the risk of hitting the post at 5-1 down !" lol.

So, Starlands now found themselves harshly at the end of 6-1....

Red Star went through again but was blocked by Ben....the Irish man Rick O'Shea wasnt cleared and Ben slipped, the ball hit was tucked away to make it 7-1 !

Further chances were saved by Ben coming off his line..

STarlands came strong in the last 5 mintues...with Josh passing to Aaron who had moved upfront, some lovely skill but just bent the shot wide !...

Oh well....another entertaining game...not the right result...but good fun... Well done boys.

Man of The Match awarded to Marcus for his Samba style skills and rampaging runs in attack and more importantly track back defensive covering !
