Home league match played on 05 October 2013.
Kicked off at 11:30 AM

Starlands welcomed Fazeley - looking for an unprecedented 3rd win on the trot....

The girls were forced to find a last minute replacement keeper for Holly who was at the dentist....and a BIG  thank you to Holly for rushing back to help and Hannah coming straight from a sleep over party!.....THANK YOU BOTH.

Kiera bravely stepped up to the plate - and judging by our 7-7 pre season friendly....everything indicated she would be very busy. That day we had three U.15 ringers in.....so today was always going to be tough against a BIG Fazeley side.

Amazingly Starlands got off to a flyer - a lovely pass fron Ellie found Amber, who in her trade mark fashion bore down on goal and slotted home under pressure from the defender.

1-0 and a great start.

Fazeley were a little slow to start - as is usually the case when travelling to away games,

The Starlands defence were slow to clear the ball - and the Fazeley striker Kiera who has attracted attention from centres of excellence turned on the edge of the box and shot, finding Kiera off her line...great goal!....and 1-1.

Starlands to be fair should and could have taken the lead again with Amber and from a corner by Olivia and a number of the girls failing to put the ball in the net.

Holly turned up just before half time and replaced a heroid Kiera who had come off her line and made a great block.

The second half, Starlands were looking a little vulnerable up the middle. The defence were starting to swing a leg and fail to clear the ball.

Alex and Grace were showing their usual telepathic play - some nice interplay , as did Samantha and Kiera up the other flank.

Sinead and Holly made some terrific headed clearances - exactly what we had practised at traing.

Chloe - was reading the game well - and made some timely interceptions - and was a close run for girl of the game,

Olivia - who had scored 10 goals v Fazeley last season just could not get past that last player - but showed some nice turns and passes,Fazeley took a 2-1 lead when again they failed to clear....Holly made a couple of superb blocks...

Starlands went to a back three looking for an equaliser - but although Amber had a great opportunity shooting into the side netting, it was Fazeley that got a third and a hat trick for their star player....

Once again, Starlands had given it their all - but luck was not on their side.....a terrific effort - and once again an improvement.

Well done girls proud of you all.....

Saying that....its paintball tomorrow,,,,,and you will all be shot at dawn!!!!!!!   :)

GIRL OF THE GAME  - Samantha  ( infront of her grandparents who were watching her for the first time in 3 yrs!)
