Summer arrived for our 2nd game of the season, and our first back at Kingsley college.

We knew it would be hard work in the heat so Gaz and I drummed it into the lads that the ball should do the work this morning.  The game started and we found ourselves on the attack in the first few minutes, balls were being fed into the centre with great service from Kaleb and Braden, unfortunately Joe couldnt convert the fantastic work.

We didnt have to wait long though to break the deadlock as Kaleb broke down the right wing with a superb "shot", he later admitted it was a cross, that looped over the keeper to make it 1-0.  The trend did not change and it wasnt long before more shots were raining down on the keeper from Joe, Jack and Kaleb.  Studley kept going and we made the pressure pay as a cross to the back post was converted by Joe for his first of the season.

The first half was played out very much in the Kingshurst half, but a break from Kinghurst almost caught Studley out with Dylan saving at his near post as half time loomed.

The 2nd half began in very much the same fashion, with Studley relentless with their attacking intent.  It wasnt long before the game was over as a contest when Kaleb brought down a ball, looped it over the defender and calmly volleyed the ball past the keeper to make it 3-0.  Braden and Jack were getting more and more into the game with shots and passes coming from all areas.  Braden picked up the ball on the left and came through a few challenges, he found himself with time to shoot, but it was saved by the keeper.  The ball rebounded to Braden and he had no problem 2nd time round and made the score 4-0.

Studley were now in full flow, but the impressive thing from the side line was that the boys kept to task and never once showboated about the performance.  The game restarted and within seconds the ball was played through between the two Kingshurst defenders for the forwards to run onto.  Joe came from nowhere to sprint clear of the defenders and calmly life the ball over the advancing keeper to make it 5-0.  This could now become one of the best results we have had and we know how close this league will be at the business end of the season so to get more goals when we were playing like this was paramount.  Jack got in on the act with the calmness we have come to expect from our captain.  The ball found itself on the right wing, bouncing around, Jack lifted his head up and saw the keeper slightly off his line, and yes, he attempted the lob, which to fantastic accuracy he pulled off and made it 6-0.

At this stage we had 2 strikers vying for a hat-trick, Kaleb had gone close with a thunderous effort that the keeper did well to save at the end of the first half, but he wasnt to be denied.  Kaleb picked up the ball on the edge of the area, and with absolutely no effort or backlift thundered the ball into the top corner to make it 7-0.

The game came to a close and it was our biggest win at 9 a side and 4 points from 6 from our first 2 games.  A fantastic "TEAM" effort as without the defenders and goalkeeper we wouldnt have kept a clean sheet today, which we deserved.  A freat effort by all and extremely pleasing from our point, and im sure the proud parents!

Roll on next week!!
