Home league match played on 07 October 2012.
Kicked off at 12:00 PM

A great game of football culminated with the Bees taking all 3 points on this fine autumn day.

Studley came out of the blocks well looking to put last weeks result behind them and to push on up the table.  It wasnt long before our first effort came on goal after Joe ripped the defenders to shreads with his pace before squarring the ball to Braden and at the 2nd time of asking Braden from outside of the area found the top corner of the goal with a fantastic strike.

Studley carried the game to Sutton with more play down both wings with Brandon and Elliott becoming involved going foward.  The defence of Oli, Liam and Rory looked like it had a good understanding and mopped up anything that came their way.  From a Sutton throw in Studley doubled their advantage, as Braden at the 2nd time of asking found an unmarked Elliott just outside of the area with no one between him and the goalkeeper.  Elliott took a couple of touches before composing himself and thundering an effort past the advancing keeper.

Studley then sat back and allowed Sutton into the game with sloppy defending.  The ball was not cleared properly and we conceded a free kick on the edge of our area.  The ball was whipped in for the advancing number 10 to nod into the bottom corner.  The referee blew up for half time for a pleasing first half performance.

The second half started in very much the same fasion with end to end football from two good footballing teams.  Brandon set Joe free down the right hand side with the keeper advancing to narrow down the angle, the chip was on but he continued around the keeper and hammered a shot towards the bottom corner of the net, Kaleb was there to make sure with a tap in to make it 3-1.  Breathing space we thought, how wrong you can be.

Within 5 minutes of the restart Studley conceded a free kick right on the edge of the area, number 7 stepped up to curl the ball into the top corner past a despairing dive from Dylam, 3-2.

A fantastic game followed with chances at either end with Elliott again marauding down the left flank to almost find Joe.  Sutton cranked up the pressure in the last 5 mins and Studley were thankful of a missed kick when it seemed easier to miss by an impressive numbaerr 7 as the ball was swung in which found him unmarked.  The game was about finished when a free kick was awarded to Sutton just into the Studley half.  The ball was lifted in and it found its way to a Sutton player who turned the ball goalwards from yards out - only to find Dyan "cat" esque oush the ball away to safety and the ref blew the whistle for full time.

We could breath again and 3 more points on the board for Studley.  2 out of the top 4 have now been played, and we should have had at least 4 points from the 2 games, great performance today against a good footballing team.  Sutton repay the favour next week as we travel to their ground in the Open Cup!
