Home league match played on 27 March 2010.
Kicked off at 1:30 PM

A fantastic team effort by 10 soldiers.

Greg, Dom, Phil and lone front runner, Stiff came in for this game and combined well with the regulars to provide an outstanding team effort. With a man less (2 less at the start!) we seemed to accept the challenge ahead and fought like lions throughout the whole 90 minutes, and with a little bit of luck, slightly better finishing in front of goal, and an extra body we would have had with 11 players I think we might have won this one!

Steveo - made some sharp saves. showed safe hands. Communicated well.

Dom - The wasp showed great energy levels and determination. Went on some fabulous runs in the second half with some goodd deliveries.

Greg - Contender for MOM. Organised well, good positioning and was resolute, never looked like he would get beat - and didnt - smashed loppy bollocks late on as well! BRILLIANT!

Pad - Continued his good form with a solid display, a rock alongside Greg, good positioning and held a good line.

Phil - Stepped into the fray after about 15 minutes and eased into a left back role, providing great support for Spagey and made some mazy runs which bamboozled thier defence and managed a fair few shots on goal which troubled their keeper. Best back heel ever in own box contender?!

Spagey - Started well at left back, showing good defensive responsibilities. Revelled in midfield position and showed real quality in his delivery, the pick of the passes a 35 yd crossfield ball into the box - Rich just couldnt guide his header towards goal.

Andy Paterson - Andy's willingness to get on the ball and start things gave him the MOM nod for me. Didnt always have an option, which was frustrating but we gave more options as the game went on. Took a fair few knocks in the middle of the park to ease the pressure and win free kicks.

Richie Bell - Finally produced some quality in a more advanced position. Sometimes let the ball get away from him and wasted possession but worked extremely hard and showed glimpses of wuality with powerful running. Willingness to cmpete and make tackles was impressive as was willingness to get in box and almost scored with a header.

Loft - Took up the defensive midfield role with a positivity and determination to spoil and deny their attacks. Brole up a lot of play and distribution was precise and well timed. Wasa human battering ram in second half when went on a trail of destruction with his Rambo tackles!

Stiff - This lad ran his bollocks all afternoon. I would ahve liked to have sene him paired up front - I think he would have caused more problems. Was a pest and faught tirelessly, chasing lost causes.

I was proud of you all. Brilliant and heart warming to see this kind of courage, desire and determination. Acceptance of the challeneg ahead, it was embraced and no questions were asked, no moaning just all hands to the pump, the way a good team should be. It was cruel to concede at the end their, but even then we still kept fighting. Lets finish strongly and enjoy our remaining games. We get to play this mob again in a few weeks. We can go there in buoyant mood after this.
