Away league match played on 17 April 2018.
Kicked off at 6:00 PM

After a well earned result 2 days ago Thrum Hall were on the road again away to Old Pond on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. The snakes finally found the pitch and changing rooms after been sent to the middle of nowhere with the post code provided. Hembers, Henshaw and Tap Jr all licking their lips when realising their was a children’s park just behind the pitch. The lads made it out just in time for kick off after fighting to get changed in what can only be described as a box for a changing room.

KICK OFF! Thrum Hall started well with some very good football been played throughout the team but no chances seemed to be going there way. A big highlight from the first half was Old Ponds very own Andriy Voronin constantly get nutmeged by Robbo who had definitely been practising his skills all day after his weekly visit to the job centre. Finally after going at the Old Pond defence all of the first half The Snakes finally broke through in the 46th min with Jonni pulling off a nicely timed flick to Gibby who slotted away to give the snakes a well deserved 1-0 lead going in to half time!

2nd Half The second half begins with Thrum Hall shooting up hill. Starting off how the first half end with the away side attacking Old Ponds bus and not many chances going their way. In the 62nd minute Marcus decided to try a different approach by bringing Hembers on for Clissit. In the 69th minute King Cobra Casey struck a venomous shot which was dipping straight in, finally he had his goal... or did he? Old Ponds very own David De Gea in an outfield shirt pulled of a top draw finger tip save denying him yet again. Thrum Halls Mr Reliable stepped up to take the penalty which was rewarded after the home side saw red and were reduced to 10 men. Boom!! Gibby with his 2nd slotting to the right hand side sending the keeper the wrong way, 2-0!

In the 72nd minute another sub saw Andy replace Luke who had put a great shift in but the manager was obviously looking to replace him with somebody with a bit of pace.

It could have been the perfect start for the substitute as he was denied a couple of chances, one a sumptuous chip over the keeper which was unlucky not to go in as it bounced on the line and span back out. Also denied an assist after floating in a corner which Ben Coates latched on to the end of and the true DotD Karl cleared off the line for a goal kick!

In the 85th min Thrum Hall made their finally change which saw Jonni replaced by the Gazelle Henshaw.

In the 91st min the 2nd substitute Andy finally contributed to the game playing a sublime through ball to Robbo who latched on to the end of the ball and whipped in a peach of a cross to Gibby who headed away to complete another hatrick!!! Game over!!!

A great win for the snakes and also a well deserved clean sheet for Thrum Hall which saw the best defensive performance since the 2nd half masterclass against Sidall from the majestic trio of centre backs of Andy, Ben and Andy Robertson.

On to the last 2 games of the season and hopefully another 6 points!
