Thrybergh Top Club 3 vs 0 3 magpies

Going into this game it was a big 6 pointer with a lot at stake regarding position in table. I had a good 15 man squad available and some tough decisions on the starting 11. We lined up in our usual 352 formation, Kingy in the net with badger dosh n brunyee the bk 3. Rougvie n jake was the attacking wing bks with sean hammon and pip the midfield 3, Parkey n jonni lead the line. Left a very good bench of jonty ian medlock and wayne.

We set off 1st 10 mins a little bit scrappy with the ball giving away possession for too cheaply with maggies having the better of the open exchanges. We then got to grips with game and was better side and took the lead when jonni played a 1 2 off the post to put us in the lead. Our 2nd came 10 mins later with a sublime lob from way inside our own half from pip. Maggies came close to pulling 1 back 5 mins b4 the break only to see there effort come bk of the post and into kingy's hands. We was forced into a early sub when sean had to come off a few minutes b4 halftime as his groin had tightened up he was relaced by jonty.

Another forced change at half time saw ian replace rougvie who had to leave early. Badger went to wing bk and ian dropped into the bk 3.

We set off a little nervy with maggies going long and direct but our defence coped with that very well jonni then put us into a comfortable 3-0 lead after he dribbled around box for a few minutes b4 putting the ball into the next. Maggies shortly after was reduced to 10 men when there lad was booked for persistent fouling he didnt like it and told the ref that with a few explicit words and was then shown 2nd yellow followed by the red. Wayne replace jake for the last 25 as left wing bk and had a great chance to make it 4 when clean through only to fire it high over the bar from 8 yards. Final change came as medlock replaced parkey for the final 10 mins. We was awarded a penalty when the keeper hacked down pip after he ad took ball round him. Pip offered jonni the ball to complete his hatrick only for the keeper to save the spot kick and the follow up shot too which was a shame as jonni deserved a hatrick with his performance today.

overall it was 2 different halfs today a good passing and flowing 1st half and a hard working battling 2nd half well done boys utc.
