Away league match played on 23 November 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

After last weeks dissapointment we had chance to put things right today against so far undefeated rivals wilton fc. Traveling away to ferham park i had chosen the 16 man squad, Changing our formation slightly to 4-1-4-1 with the objective to get more support quicker to our striker. Todays starting 11 was Nick in goal Donnelly and Jake in the full bk positions with Scott and back from injury making is first start was Squires to partner him at centre half. ryan was the bk 4 protection, jonni n rougvie hit the wings with tommo n brunyee in the centre, parkey lead the line. Which left a strong bench of Dukey, Jimmy, Rob, Conlon, and Dan.

We set off really strong playing some good football wilton was struggling to contain us we took a well deserved lead around the 20 min mark from a set piece a superb in-swinging delivery from Jake met with great movement from parkey who guided the header into the for corner given the keeper no chance. Soon After scoring u always become a bit vunerable for 5 mins and thats what happened as wilton come on us forcing nick into a few routine saves nothing worrying. We gained our composure and within space of 10 mins created 3 great chances to put the game beyond wilton but we didnt convert but took our 1-0 lead into the half time break.

Wilton set off really well as we had expected them to but we limited them to the long ball that seemed to be there main weapon all game. They had a few bk to bk corners we defended well and seemed to av weathered the storm and ad a good spell ourselves were we had a few bk to bk corners also with a big shout for handball turned down by the ref. On the hour mark from a silly free kick we gave away wilton find there equalizer a bit of a goalmouth scramble which saw scott floored and the ref failing to stop the game after a heroic goalline save by squires the ball bounced bk to wilton player who made no mistake in making it all square. Now i need to see what character my players av got and boy did they show me we took the game right to wilton and 5 mins later from a great corner from jake, parkey meets it on the volley and boooom 2-1. This shook wilton a bit and whilst they was still rocking we make it 3-1 when the ball drops to the coolest man on the pitch who finds the only gap to goal there was to send us into wild celebrations 3-1. First change came after the goal it was a straight swap on the left rob on for jonni. Credit to wilton there heads dint go and was still pushing on but this was leaving gaps all over there bk line were on a few occasions we exploited but should have done alot better. My 2nd change came just to shore things up and change bk to our 4231 off came the hard working tom and on came dukey to sit next to ryan infront of defence. the game was pittering out until a long crossfield pass were sumhow it managed to stike ian's arm inside the box given wilton a little hope. Well taken penalty made it 3-2 but it was too little to late as the damage was already done and we ran out deserved winners.

Overall was great to see that team spirit today, Also well pleased how we pressed the ball when they had it was an all round great team performance. But we have a long way to go in this season and we have to keep that performance level up every week not just today.
