Away league match played on 11 November 2012.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Thurrock u15's march on, and on, and on! Another convincing win made it 7 wins out of 7 games to set a new winning streak for the team! well done lads. The first half was a strange affair with Thurrock dominating the play and dictating the pace of the game. Time after time we managed to get into great crossing positions, but failed to deliver the killer cross that would have rewarded our play. The central midfield pairing of Ryan and Lewis is starting to bear its fruit, with some very good understanding between the two of them.Time after time they were able to find the two wide men Callum and Connor (the krays) as they are known thoughout the league. We played a very strong and physical game today which was nice to see. Evidence of this was clear when Andrew bounced a couple of players of his chest! and then Gerald made another of their players leave the field after a clash of heads. Gerald didnt even flinch, or realise he had left their player in a crumpled heap! Taylor had an inspired game today and put himself about very well. He Chased every ball and didnt pull out of any tackles. well done taylor Jack was unlucky not to open the goal scoring when he turned well and smashed his shot into the midrift of the keeper who went down like he had been snipered! The wind was well and truly knocked out of him! It took us until the 24th Minute to open the scoring. A cross from Connor resulted in the defender firing into his own net just before Jack could get on the end of it. Connor then became goal scorer when he latched onto a terrific ball over the top from Ryan. 2-0 up and very much in control.Just three minutes later it was 3-0. Callum who was all over the right back, had a snap shot from a cross from Connor that squeezed in between the post and the defender who tried his best to keep it out. Epping looked well beat already but were gifted a goal after a hopeful punt was miss controlled allowing their striker to get his shot off. Tyler saved his first effort, but could do nothing when he followed up on the rebound. 3-1 at half time. The 2nd half began very slowly from our point of view. Epping looked like they had a belief they could get something out of the game, and were rewarded after a defencesive error allowed them in to make it 3-2. This seemed to wake us up. Soon we were back to the great passing game that had all of our 20 supporters gasping at how well we were spreading the play from left to right and vise versa. The overlapping play on both wings was breathtaking leaving the Epping players chasing shadows! Jack grabbed a real poachers goal after a cross from the right from another team move had cut Epping defence to pieces.4-2 Connor made it 5-2 Tucking the ball under the advanceing goalkeeper from a pinpoint through ball from Lewis. We were cruising now and Ryan was rewarded for his endevour when he got on the end of a great team move and "sweated" his goal..... Xbox talk for a tap into an open goal!!6-2 The game was moving into time added on when Epping were awarded a throw in, which was taken....... a foul throw should have been given to us but the play continued, with our players still claiming for the foul throw Epping took advantage and managed to get their third goal 6-3 F/T

And so it was another win for the team and another 3 points to keep us at the top of the league. Keep up the good work lads.

Todays quotes:  Some excellentfootball played, but still letting in sloppy goals through lake of concentration (Mark Rogers)  Took a while to get there but got there in the end (Stacey Reeve)

Many thanks to all those supporters that made the long journey today, and get well soon maria....... We really missed our cakes (and you) today!
