Home league match played on 14 October 2012.
Kicked off at 1:00 PM

After returning from the disappointment of Burlington and the manner in which the tournament finished, the Porto Green and white army returned to familiar settings in the shape of Southern Village..

The opponents today were Porto's internal rivals, TUSA Everton. With both teams looking to get their first league on the board and both sitting at the foot of the table, this was a must win for both teams.

The game started with a strong pace from both teams as both sides wanted the first goal of the day and to impose their authority. Despite some early good play from Porto, it was TUSA Everton that came close when their strikers were through on goal, but the quick reactions of Dani in the goal kept them at bay. It was even closer only moments later when again the opponents front line found their way through and only had the post to save them.

Finally, Porto got the opener with Cole scoring his third in as many games. Then the floodgates somewhat opened as Porto started finding their passing game and worked the flanks well. Goals from David, David and Cole, quickly took the score to 4-0 before Everton even had chance to respond, but respond they did with a goal to take the score at half time to 4-1

At the half time break, Coach asked for focus and not to let the hard work of the first half go to waste and continue pushing hard to guarantee the win.

The second half was all Porto and Everton were struggling to get out of their own half. Porto were quick to continue their hard work with Owen notching a 5th and Remi quickly making it 6. Everton got a 2nd goal not long after that, but again Porto went straight back to getting goals, despite coach changing players out of position and focusing on passing game. David and Cole quickly wrapped up their hat tricks for the game and then further goals from Owen and two from captain Nick, finished the scoring at 10-2

Coach's Corner

What was really pleasing was the Porto boys looking to pass and move and also to hunt the ball down. Definite a change in fortunes and work rate which gave Porto their first deserved league win. Well Done!!!
