Away league match played on 11 September 2011.
Kicked off at 10:45 AM

The Units traveled to Halesowen on a blustery Sunday morning to take on Stourbridge Glassboys in their 2nd league game in Div 2

Cuzer was delighted to welcome back club skipper Taylor into the 16 and new signing Matt Powell, both back after suspension. Nathan Kirby returned from holiday for his debut and Kev Giddins kindly helped us out in goal with Mala absent and Big Show carrying a knock
We lined up with Kev, Chin, Lacey, Kirby, Barney, Baker, Jim, Turner (c) Jonah, Marcus & Pountney - subs Ross, Ferrera, Penna, Taylor and Powell

The first 20 were competitive with neither side creating much of note, we battled hard but the ball wasn't sticking too well up top and this was giving SGlass some possession although they created very little
After a couple of UNITS half chances we took the lead on 25 minutes when Marcus did exceptionally well to keep the ball in on the byeline before crossing low for Jonah to take a touch and stroke home from 6 yards for his first UNITS goal

We were now well on top, only SGlass threatening to get in behind with a couple of balls over the top which didn't result in shots on goal

On 30 some great hassling in midfield from the excellent Baker resulted in Jim pouncing on the loose ball and driving into the box, jim drew the challenge and was clipped as the penalty was given, Pountney stepping up to stroke home with ease

On 40 minutes Marcus got his 2nd in 2 games when from a pin point Pountney corner he powered a header home from 10 yards to give us a comfortable half time cushion

HT - Stourbrige Glassboys 0 v 3 TS Units

Gaffer Cuzer was pleased with the first half display and asked for more of the same from the UNITS after the break
However we started a tad sloppy and S Glass had a 10 minute spell where a couple of long range efforts were confidently dealt with by Giddins.

However by the 65 minute mark we had stormed into a 6 goal lead with slick UNITS counter play

Firstly Baker won possession 30 yards out, beat his man before reversing a fine ball to Pountney who cooly finished from 15 yards for his 2nd and our 4th
Shortly after it was a hat-trick for our talisman striker when after more one touch counter attacking the boy Farron was released down the left, one touch inside the box and slipped the ball past the advancing keeper
We saved our best for the 6th when more good work down the left involving substitute Powell, Lacey and Pountney resulted in Turner drilling in the low cross first time from 16 yards, rifling the ball into the top corner

Powell had come on for Jim who took a knock and shortly after Taylor got his first action of the season replacing Marcus who had another good game

Both Taylor and Powell had chances to extend our lead as the UNITS created at will, shortly after Penna replaced Chinner at RB

The only downside was we took our foot of the gas in the last 15 and allowed Stourbridge Glass to first blaze a penalty that never was over before nicking two late goals as we never covered ourselves in glory defensively. Alas, the clean sheet went begging but an excellent win on the road for the UNITS who have won their opening two games in Division 2

Man of the match went to Andy Baker who was instrumental in the middle of the park, breaking things up and using the ball well as he does when on top of his game. Special mentions to Pountney who had another fine game, Lacey who was excellent on the left and Kirbs who had an excellent debut in the pink & black. Next week a tough game against another team to have won their first 2 - Chaddesly Corbett
