Team News

Slade welcome new £5.01 record signing Adedayo Pitan into the sqaud and he is named amongst the substitues with Ticehurst, Bergess, and the pissed PC Rodger. Harris is still sidelined through injury with Tille still missing. Rob Darby managed to come and support the boys, screaming his usual pointless instructions on the side. Captain Sammy B was also out with shin splints and even managed to come up with his own encouragement for the boys on the sideline instead of copying someone else's shouts....

First Half

It's getting pretty repetitive, but once again the Slade started slow and went behind in the first 10 minutes to another tap in. Last year it was screamers undoing us, now it's tap ins. Walderslade 0-1 Insanity. It took that goal to wake us up and the chances were coming with Ross hitting the bar from a free kick and Armour testing the keeper but in all truth, they were comfortable saves from a surprisingly good large GK. Piercey was up to his old tricks of taking people on and losing it, Lee Ob brought back his screaming ways with a dramatic dive on the edge of the box that was worth a few DOD shouts. Marques day dreamt his way through the first half and took a leaf out of Sharkeys book by losing it but winning it back, and repeating the process, all while doing his usual of running the ball as far sideways as he possibly can be passing it. As the half was drawing to a close, Armour had a simple header that should have been buried to level the game but it went wide, and that was about it from a dissapointing first half.

Second Half

The second half began as the first ended with Walderslade bossing the opposition, and making their first sub with Mon-Dayo making his debut for the blue boys. Without looking too dangerous and with time running out, a long throw in by Rossy found the foot of the opposing defender who deflected the ball in under pressure from Coney, who was labelled a c*** by the defender for pushing hi,. What a thug. Walderslade 1-1 Insanity. As the half was gettingin to the latter stages, lino Bergass implemented a new rule into the game with an offside being given if the ball clearly travels backwards when kicked. We had Ben Lewis doing some weird juggling skills and falling over the ball, still affected by his drunk fireman state the night before. But jokes aside, the Slade know how to see a game out this season, and with 5 minutes left, a free kick by Ticehurst found the head of Dave Brown who directed his header into the path of Coney who nodded in from a few yards out to put the Slade 2-1 up. Insanity had no reply in the next 5 minutes with Dayo, Rossy, and Armour all coming close to wrapping the game up. Yet with almost the last action of the game, Rick pulled out a last ditch save to confirm the win for the Wanderers, definitely a save for the cameras. Full Time, Walderslade 2-1 Insanity

Match Analysis

A tough game, and at times, dirty, left the Slade with a physical battle but at the end of the day, it's another 3 points, and just what we needed going into the game with Bean next week. We need to want the ball more and get our passing game going again. Well done to Ricky Wood for getting MOM (we will ignore his flappy punching sequence in the second half...) Must of suffered from the Bruno Marques floppy wrist. Also congrats to Stockers for getting his 6.9, was well deserved. The subs made a positive impact with Dayo taking the full backs on and Ticehurst holding the midfield well. Last mention goes to captain Sammy though for his outrageous strike, that was luckily only heard by the subs. What's dayo's first name then - mon? Up the Slade
