Only at this level can you go from having 2 unused subs one week, to having 1 fit available sub the week after. Absentees included academic Marques and Paul 'Pato' Tille. Old man Wood is still suffering from some kind of back/finger/sweat gland problem. Gaffer Harris sits the game on the bench due to some unknown injury, at least there won't be any falzaghes on the pitch today. The Beetle brothers had work commitments. Bergess starts his first game of the season at left wing, with the shuffler returning to the fold on the right. Stockbridge looks to increase his average rating after lasts weeks lucky 4 and Rob Darby starts his 'first' game in goal for the Slade. With Medway Athletic having lost their first 5 games, this was definitely a game the boys have to win.

First Half

With Armour and Rossy late due to a burst tyre, the Slade had to begin temporarily with ten  men but to be fair, the way the game was mapping out, ten men would be all that was needed. It wasn't too long into the game before a free kick ino the box found Armour who's miscontrolled pass found O'Brien, who had about ten years to finish the ball but still somehow shit himself before scoring. 1-0 Slade. Not long after this, Armour put through Rich Coney who rounded the GK and scuff home to make it 2-0. With Walderslade dominating the game, it was becoming a stroll in the park with the shuffler whipping out some party flicks, and more flicks, and the same again but never really getting anywhere in the process..Sharky was up to his old tricks of stumbling over the ball when attempting to dribble and whipping out a ten minute leg drawback before he actually kicks the ball. And that was about it in a quiet first half. Half Time. 2-0 Walderslade

Second Half

All of a sudden, the Slade found their goalscoring touch with Matt '19/10' Stockbridge finding space on the byline to cut it back for the impressive Steven Bergess to register his first goal of the season, finishing from just outside the 6 yard box. 3-0 Walderslade. It wasn't long after this when the also much improved Coney was put through to square for Rodger who pooped himself and left it for Armour to slot home just inside the area. 4-0 Walderslade. On came a slightly rounder Scholesy in midfield to partner Armour and instantly the Ross Boss was rising like a salmon to win headers, and recieivng the ball with confidence in the middle of the field. It was a Ticehurst pass that found Armour who cut back and crossed for Coney to score his second goal of the game after taking it down on his chest and neatly tucking the ball away. 5-0 Slade. With ten minutes left, Harris came on and had enough time to miss 1 chance and score another with a smart lob over the keeper following a Stockridge through ball. 6-0 Walderslade. With that brought the final whistle soon and a resounding victory for the Boys. Walderslade 6-0 Medway Athletic.

Match Analysis

When a game is this easy, it's hard to judge player improvement and performance, yet everyone was in agreement that Ben Lewis was the MOTM, putting in a solid effort at left back, bombing up and down, always being first to the ball. Bergess put in a confident performance down the left side and popped up with a well taken goal. Callum Rodger showed some neat footwork and Lee O'Brien was assured at the back as usual. Rich Coney even managed to conquer his open goal demons by scoring one in the first half of the game. Second in the league though for the boys, behind Emerald Star once again just like last season. Its Cliffe Reserves next week and lets hope its the same outcome as last time against them (except with Piercey scoring 2 and not stop talking about himself being a midfielder and top goal scorer...) Up the Slaaaaade
