Away league match played on 15 November 2008.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

As the match got underway, the Typhoons went straight onto the attack, putting the Knights defence of Choularton, Greenaway and Komboni under pressure, but this trio stayed calm and clear the danger away.   The Typhoons appeared to be a team possessed making Powell and Hooper fight for every ball, hurrying them into making a few errors.  The Knights then launched an attack of their own with Greenaway releasing Powell through the mid-field; Hooper drew a defender wide but the Typhoons rallied around to close the door in this promising Knights attack.  Again the Typhoons came forward but Komboni stood firm and sent the ball up-field for Hooper to chase; defenders quickly surrounded him but Hooper slipped the ball to Powell, he turned towards goal and let fly with a long range shot which went wide of the mark.  The Typhoons again forced their way towards the Knights goal, shooting themselves making Tadd, the Knights keeper save.  During another Typhoons’ attack Komboni was forced to venture forward and stop the Typhoons in mid-field, he collected the ball and quickly passed to Greenaway who went for goal himself, narrowly missing.  Another attack by the Knights saw Courtnage power down the wing crossing for Greenaway, he collected the ball and passed it to Powell but the Typhoons, who were defending in numbers, brought this attack to a swift end.  A few minutes later the Typhoons were award a throw-in near the Knights goal, it was quickly taken and a shot come cross drifted through the Knights penalty area, everyone appeared to just watch the ball which hit the back post and rolled into the net, giving the Typhoons the lead.  As the match re-started Holloway took control of the ball and hammered down the wing, but as he was still finding his feet the ball just run away from him as he entered the Typhoons penalty area.  Moments later, Blackbourn collected the ball and lofted it high into the Typhoons half of the pitch, the ball bounced into the Typhoons penalty area causing confusion, Powell stuck out a boot and made contact with the ball but the Typhoons keeper gathered safely.  As the half was drawing to a close the Knights rallied, and from a throw-in taken by Komboni Holloway turned and released Courtnage towards goal, Courtnage struck the ball firmly but again the Typhoons keeper held onto the ball.  With only seconds remaining, Komboni again released the ball up-field Courtnage controlled the ball and passed to Holloway, he took aim and let fly but the ball just drifted over the cross-bar.

As the 2nd half started, the Typhoons launched an attack; the Knights appeared to be day-dreaming which caused confusion in their penalty area.  The Typhoons rushed the Knights goal, and amidst the mass of bodies, scored their 2nd goal.  The Knights then stirred themselves into action, forcing the play into the Typhoons half; from a quickly taken throw-in by Courtnage, flicked on by Powell, a Typhoon defender sliced the ball which went close to his own goal, forcing his own keeper to tip the ball over the bar.  The Typhoons soon took control again, forcing the Knights into defending, more confusion within the Knights area lead to the Typhoons scoring again, given them a 3-0 lead with only 5 minutes remaining.  The Knights then started playing football, passing the ball freely and making good goal scoring opportunities; the first of which fell to Hooper, who forced the Typhoons keeper to save.  Courtnage then tried his luck, sending the ball passed the Typhoons keeper but also wide of the post.  The Typhoons conceded a corner which Hooper played it short to Courtnage, this time his shot went over the bar; with time running out Komboni launched a long ball forward, over the top of the Typhoons defence leaving Courtnage on his own.  Keeping a cool head Courtnage controlled the ball, flicking it past the Typhoons keeper and into the net, bringing a glimmer of hope for the Knights.  Holloway then run the ball towards the Typhoons goal, skipping past a defender before firing in a powerful cross; Courtnage again found himself open but this time he was not able to direct his shot on target.  Courtnage again gathered the ball out wide, receiving a great pass from Choularton, Courtnage slipped the ball through the Typhoons keeper legs but a defender was aware of the situation and tried to clear the ball away.  Greenaway intercepted the ball and fired a shot goal-ward, but this went wide.  With only seconds remaining the Typhoons conceded a corner, Holloway took; sending the ball into the danger zone, Courtnage again reacted first, and with the ball heading towards the goal a defender booted the ball away just as the referee blow the whistle to end this hard fought match.  The Manager then had to decide who should be awarded man of the match, without hesitation Courtnage name was put forward, not only by the Manager but by the rest of the Knights players; as everybody felt that Courtnage worked hard throughout the entire match.
